It says New not Refurb.

Seems like a good deal to me, and didn't take long to find, so thanks for the prompt OP it's faster than the built in wireless in my work laptop - will be nice to be able to use the benefits of the Wireless N network that I normally connect to. Ordered.
H&R on it's way...

Ebay Outlet listings are permitted now and the goto deal button should work (I've just tested it & link goes to item).

Also some members deleted their own comments so I've removed the other related / off topic comments as the thread was getting a little difficult to follow & some of the info was incorrect - so apologies to anyone who has posted & had comments removed :)

This will solve the issue but you will need to buy an N router as well (you need sender + this receiver) But if you have other laptops on G your router will not go into N mode. Of course you can have two networks for different machines. This is the best I can do after working all night:-D

Sorry - incorrect. You can set Wireless N to be "transmitted" with backwards compatability for G and (depending on the router) a/b. My sons laptop connects at wireless G to my draytek, and i get wireless N rates on the other 2 machines i have (one at 150Meg, the other at 300Meg)...

Hot deal tho :)

Just an idea ...
Have you ever tried to find the definitive up to date rules for HDUK ? It's nigh on impossible.
Maybe you (and all Mods) could put a link in your sig' file ?

Maybe that's how Andywedge gets away with what he does ? :whistling:

Does your daughters laptop have a PCMCIA slot ? Most recent laptops don't have them anymore.

ALSO, you need to make sure that your daughter's laptop has a pcmcia slot to put the card in. Many modern laptops don't. You might also look for a 'range extender' for your laptop, or simply connect it by wire (using it's rj45socket directly to the router)

Is it just me or there's no description on that ebay listing?
#23
it is worth noting that the black bit sticks outside of the laptop
#24
I almost paid ~£50 for this a few months ago. Many thanks.
#25
Almost sure this was £1.99 plus postage last week
#26
Just checked and this is 32bit cardbus (PCMCIA) so will suit older laptops usually. Modern ones use Express card. Details of Express card are shown in the link below, along with a diagram comparing express card with cardbus :

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ExpressCard

A cardbus to express card adapter is shown on the above link, never tried one myself so I don't know how well they work.

I didnt realise ebay clearance's were allowed now otherwise I'd have posted this deal too.

Yes. This will work with B, G, and N. It might lack support for A and or WEP (*but I doubt it).

Ordered, thanks. Heated and repped.

Never understood why u need these. Every laptop these days have wireless!!!

Never understood why u need these. Every laptop these days have wireless!!!

1) most older laptops don't have N wireless cards (N wireless standard is significanty faster and further range than A/B/G)
2) The internet aerials of a laptop wireless card are often quite poor reception-wise, as they're usually just a small line of wire. This card has the aerial sticking out the side, again increasing reception.

When I saw which Mod it was, I thought the same. When I first joined hotukdeals, he banned me when I tried to post a better deal - people were buying from one amazon seller for £18, when another amazon seller was doing the same for £14. Kids and their bansticks..!

AndyWedge gave me a warning for voting 2 of his deals cold. Beggars belief that he's allowed to get away with it.
