whats the difference between this and your usual charger?

Think its a bit cheaper than a official hp charger plus means i can leave one at each house thats the main plus point for me ... plus it can charge more models of laptop ??

Is this compatible with normal 15"/17" laptops because I saw something similar in Currys and it says they are only good for small netbook. The 40w is quite low for normal sized laptops i think. For eg. Dell insprions chargers are 65w.

Also on the side you can plug in usb cables and use it to charge other devices..

No good for Laptops due to the very low power. They will overhheat and could become dangerous.
But good for low powered netbooks.

Almost certainly not. These're cheap because they're under-powered. Even if they do work to strat with I doubt they'd last very long - and they'd probably get very hot if used with a proper laptop.

This could be perfect for netbook users but the head/tips tend to loose quite easily.

This is not suitable for laptops (so not a 15/17" Dell laptop). They operate on about 90W not 40W. Perhaps it might power netbooks but that is all.
