got this from play this week and must say it is excellent.my old belkin transmitter didn't charge my ipod while using it but this does so for me it's a bit of a bargain.

You can still get them cheaper from flee bay - £6 delivered and some look like the one you have posted here. I got one last week - no problems and charges ipod will playing.
#4
Bought this from amazon a few weeks ago for same price, is excellent, had no problems with sound quality or any break up in reception
#5
charges my classic OK which makes it a great car charger but I couldn't get a decent signal at all unless we were parked! I only use it as a car charger these days.

Got mine for £6 I think from grabbitnow I think.

£8,99 is not a bad deal at all... can always return it if no good :P

That for a couple of pounds more is way way better for the sound quality.

Doesn't charge the iPod though.

Good deal, but checked Amazon after Bobisking mentioned he got his there. (Wanted more product info regarding compatibility.) Amazon selling it for £7.94! Free Shipping too. Picked mine up there.

Thanks for posting - it prompted me to finally pick one up! ;o)

It sort of works. The iphone will recognise it and ask whether you want it to go into airplane mode to stop interference (not necessary imo). But you cannot choose the frequency that it will broadcast at! So, the solution is to save the 4 presets with frequencies, using a different ipod, and then remember those FM presets when it's plugged into your iphone.

Belkin do one specificalyl for the iphone, although I haven't used it.

NOTE!!!!

THESE DO NOT WORK ON IPHONES!!!!!

I bought one of these and it just sits in the boot of my car. My nephew bought one also, same for him.

In all fairness, not many people have tape players in their car!! A fm transmitter is better for the factor, at least everyone has a radio reception in their car.

If you're looking for a tape adaptor I'd recommend this one from dealextreme - buy a microSD card (it's fiddly to get a standard SD card out but a microSD comes out easily leaving the micro/SD adaptor in place) and put your music on that.

The internal battery can be charged using a mobile phone charge with a USB pug on it (I had one for my Motorola that cost 99p - the charger that is, the Motorola was free).

can anybody confirm that these work on the 3G nano?

(is the connector differerent on all nano's?)

I got one to use at work I I am very dissapointed. Unless you can find a clear frequency then it is very distorted. Glad others are finding it better!

Voted cold, I bought this from Amazon last week for £7.49 delivered. However, it has gone up to £7.72. Even so, it is still cheaper than Play.com!

I highly recommend the device though. The quality is not CD quality but is still good, as FM quality goes...

Hot! Don't have this one personally (I'm using a Griffin iTrip) however have used this in a friends car and it worked really well. A lot better than some I have tried anyway.

These have been showing up in my nearest TK Maxx for £9.99 for some months. I bought one to use with a new iPod classic as my Griffin iTrip (which I use with an old 3rd Gen iPod) wouldn't fit.

Bottom line: it wasn't very good compared to the iTrip.

It sits awkwardly on the bottom of the player. The fit isn't as secure as it could be, it doesn't really 'clip' in, it's more of a friction fit.

The keypad adds unnecessary bulk to the player (it could be elsewhere, like on the cigarette power adaptor as it is on other FM adaptors) and I couldn't sit my player in the cradle I had previously used for years as it was now too tall. There's a 'shim' type of plastic adaptor to use depending on the iPod you have, which sits between the keypad and the iPod.

The one I had worked, but didn't provide a clear signal and I got quite a bit of static on the radio frequency I always use. I took it back for a refund and bought a newer model of Griffin iTrip (iTrip Auto) for a couple of quid more. This is even better than my old iTrip in terms of FM signal quality and it also charges my iPod.

Happy days.

can anyone reccomend one for a similar price that works with ipod touch? reviews are saying that it will work if you set the frequencies on another ipod, but you will not have all the functions on the ipod touch.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-iTrip-Auto-Transmitter-Charger/dp/B000BWACX2

It's compatible with iPod touch. Might be cheaper elsewhere, I just googled it and that was one of the first links.

It's 50 quid in the Apple store. As if.....
#25
Does it work with ipod nano 4g?
thanks

i got a 6 in 1 no make brand off ebay all i can hear is 50% engine noise and 50% music on a clear frequency 82.2fm will this be better?
#27
Highly recommend this product. I live in N.London and have one of these for my 5g vid Ipod. Works perfectly as far as FM transmitters go...have previously purchased many other brands but this was the best one so far for me. I have the frequency set to 95.6 and works absolutely fine, no problems at all. The sound quality is not the same as CDs but there is no hissing or interference. (Vol 12 on TuneFM is like Vol 10 on CD if you catch my drift).

Without a doubt, this will be better than your ebay junk. But you can buy even better (a lot better, speaking from the experience of having owned this item) for about the same money.

The way I see it, the car charger alone is worth the price. The transmitter is a bonus :)

It would be even nicer if it wasn't a market place seller
