Just got one of these, it's your standard iPod dock with line-out, plus 5 USB ports at the back, and it's surprisingly slim.

According to the full blurb, it supports iPod 3G, 4G, 5G (video), Photo, nano (1G and 2G) and iPod mini.

It works fine with my iPhone 3G (and presumably the iPod touch) - it doesn't come with the right dock adaptor, but the iPod Video 30GB adapter is a good enough fit. I haven't tried the line out but I'm guessing it won't work with the iPhone, as with most third-party docks.

Can anyone confirm this will work with the iPod Touch? I want to use the line out with my hi-fi.

I'm almost certain I read review that said they work with any ipod, just fit it in another doc.

I got one a while back they're great. It works with my iPhone and my 5g iPod no problems. Though the dock changanle craddles don't support either sizes with cases on. My advice would be get it and just leave the dock connector exposed and it'll fit any iPod with dock connector you drop in it.

Does anyone know what courier MicroDirect use? I want one of these but I don't fancy the 80 mile round trip to pick it up from the CityLink depot.

The iPod Touch will fit - either by removing the dock adapter or using one designed for a larger iPod - but I think Apple have changed something and the line out will only work for older iPods. Line out doesn't work for my iPhone 3G (the sound just comes out of the phone's internal speaker), but syncing and charging is fine.

I purchased 2 of these probably about a year agoand they have proven to be somewhat of a headache in my experience. I had one connected into a Mac Pro, which died after about 3-4 months and ended up in the bin, the other connected to an iMac, has had some of the problems the first one did, namely that when attaching USB devices into it (including ipods or iphones) they don't connect to the computer. The blue light to indicate ipod is attached just flashes rather than staying constant for about 90% of the time, and even devices plugged into the hub, (flash drives, TomTom, printer etc, are not detected about 80% of the time).

Had also tried on a couple of pcs with pretty much the same issues.

I've know lost all faith in the remaining one I have and am looking today to replace it.

Maybe people with much better experiences but thought it would be worth mentioning.
