Posted 5 minutes ago, -10' already and not one post with anyone finding it cheaper.

Seems the usual bunch of faceless idiots are casting their vote without thinking.

Can You Find It Cheaper??

It really is no wonder that this country is in the **** state it is. I'd say HUKD has a reasonably representative measure of the voting public and you can't even get it right with a £4 USB charger let alone choosing your Government!!!

Slightly harsh analogy there Stu - however your point about no posts as to why cold is valid. Heat added as I thought it a decent price.

I think it's the truth Andy, People here clearly cannot make a decision for themselves or based on real facts presented to them.

I see it time and time again here and to be honest I knew it would happen with this deal, I'm proven right. I really don't know how you manage to moderate this place without getting frustrated with the type of people it draws in. The place has gone to pot, yeah you find some decent deals but the voting system simply cannot be relied up on which in truth is the USP of this website.

The Admins really need to get on top of it otherwise this place will lose what little strand of credibility it has remaining.

Now -22' and still nobody stands up and finds it cheaper.

so heat from me :)

I'd take this over a generic import anyday - ffs its £4, why would anyone get a crappy one that might do all sorts of harm just to save maybe £2.

Heat added - and Stu - deep breaths!

Lol - I'm fine. I'm just frustrated that this place, which when I first joined, used to be a useful resource. Now I think people just come here to exercise their forefinger by randomly clicking hot and cold votes and certainly don't waste any brain power.

A vote should be linked to a comment or post in the deal - Simplessss. If the Admins don't get a grip of it soon this place will fail and someone will start something else up. Hmmm, an idea??

awesome price, d you happen to know where i can get a coiled USB cable for that with miniusb port? So I can use it to charge my Desire HD

Probably the Belkin hate campaign are on the prowl tonight, Heat from me, Belkin= quality, a great guarantee, (which they honour) @ a good price.

@mulmul, I made my own, got a straight cable , twisted it round a skewer and left on a radiator for a few hours, leave to cool before uncoiling. A.

Hey good deal. Ibought this for £4 odd from my memory a few weeks ago and i'm using this instead of the supplied ones for my phones, sat nav and bluetooth adaptors. It's a good piece of kit :)

Heat added Belkin are good, branded name, Proper seller 7 day shop, never had any issues with their service. Ok so delivery times slightly slower than say Amazon but hey I can live with that.

My only issue with this is the blue LED will be on all the time (I guess you can't please everyone as some will want / need an led to indicate it's active), but for me in the middle of the night parked up this could attract unnecessary attention. (As I guess the idea is to leave it plugged in all the time). Still voting hot and I'm having one, well worth it for £4! Thanks.

Not voted on this due to my experience of Belkin's mini usb charger, had one last year. fuse went on first use and there is no way to change it. Had a cheap one with twin USB ports from eBay and has lasted with out any issues. waste of money in my opinion

I would say how far it sticks out in use depends on the depth and profile of your car cigarette lighter.

I have now owned both (Belkin & generic) and having needed to modify both to get them to work in a Honda cigarette lighter I can tell you they are both the same (dimensions and internals) apart from one doesn't have "Belkin" printed on it. If I recall correctly an Amazon Belkin review even said the LED wasn't blue but green which is the same as my generic.

Anyway, I had to modify mine as the Honda ciggy lighter has a step near the bottom of the hole which prevents the metal centre pin of the charger making contact (It also means the charger protrudes from the socket by about 10mm). To remedy the "non contact" issue I dismantled the charger and carefully drilled a suitable sized hole in the centre of the centre pin. I screwed a small self tapping screw into the hole, reassembled charger and now it works fine.

So regardless of Generic or Belkin this design is certainly not universal in terms of fitting & working (see reviews on Amazon etc).

I voted cold because of the whining, u cry baby, maybe if you didn't use foul language in your initial post people would vote it hot.

Ordered one. Thanks. Deffinatly worth £4 if it actually charges things unlike most of the cheap ones. With this one being Belkin I have a lot more confidence in it than them and it has a good 1000ma rating.

Thumbs up from me. :)

I rest my case!!

A clear and open missuse of the voting system which renders it somewhat worthless in the hands of people such as yourself.

Just a quick warning, don't buy this for a HTC android phone as it will not work at the full 1A rating and whilst using sat nav the phone charge will hardly increase if at all.

think you need to save the 4 quid and put it towards a good therapist
#32
Funnily enough last night I was thinking 'I wonder what the smallest USB in car charger would be' and was planning on looking today. I swap vehicles quite often so would want to keep it in my pocket - so this is perfect. That said, still a useless piece of crap I'll probably never use. I wouldn't have ordered one if I didn't have that thought last night - but it just feels like it's meant to be now. Heat added.

I haven't voted either - but I agree some people need to get a grip on here! It's not life or death if your deal goes cold, good Lord :p

4 quid is expensive for a USB car charger adaptor.

In my experience, cheap USB car charger adaptors rarely break anyway.

If you're paying extra for a "decent warranty" - would it really be worth going to all the hassle of a warranty procedure when you could buy a cheap one for 99p? I'd guess that's why people are voting this cold.

Remember, some people only scan through deals posted, so they won't want to go to the hassle of searching for another Belkin adaptor to justify their vote. If it's available for less and does the same job, as long as they aren't likely to break, it's a perfectly justified cold vote in my eyes, regardless of a brand name.
#35
Starting off a post by saying things like 'you know this deal is hot', 'you better not vote cold without explanation', 'all cold voters are tw*ts', is sure to get you a frosty reception.

Voted cold mainly cos of your attitude, but as an aside it ain't the cheapest around anyway:

Well I guess its random or not all Civics were made the same.

If you have an '08 Civic Type R and yours works I might be tempted to buy a third charger.

You Arogant Crap! Not Everyone Votes Cold! So Dont blame the rest of us!
#39
Well they say "third time lucky" so I am going to try one of THESE as it seems to have a thinner section at the bottom which might be compatible with the step in my Civic cigarette lighter socket.

Gotta say I agree with the OP, in that too many people vote something cold without giving a reason. Do people a favour, if its cheaper elsewhere then say so. Spread the love, I'm sure anyone posting a deal would be happy to have a cheaper one found as it saves people money. Just voting cold without any input just makes people sceptical, and you never know if its because it genuinely isn't a good price or that some people are just nobs. Just because you don't like a product doesn't make it a bad deal, but too many people think 'Oh, I don't like marmite, better vote that jar for 5p as cold then'. If you are going to take the time to vote something cold, why not also take the time to say why?

Its also irritating as hell that people can expire/spam deals without saying why either, I've seen loads of active deals that say expired on them. Usually the ebay crowd I guess, try to stop people seeing a deal so they can buy them up and make a decent profit. Never understood why the site can't at least say who expired something, even if it doesn't make them say why.
