Will work with Orange San Francisco & Desire etc!

Turn your cigarette lighter into a permanent USB charge port. You can charge any USB-powered device in the car provided you have the adequate USB charging cable.

- Quick-charge USB port for fastest possible charge
- 1000mA, 5V/1A USB port
- Slim form factor, so nearly invisible in the car
- Runs flush to eliminate interference
- Turn your cigarette lighter into a permanent USB charge port
- Ideal to charge any USB charged device, such as a Blackberry, iPod/iPhone or GPS
- 3 Year Warranty
- * No cables included

This is NOT a cheap make you get from ebay where you get a burning smell after 15 mins of use, from looking around this is as cheap as it gets for a branded usb charger delivered!

Provides 1000mA, needed for many new mobiles like HTC Desire, Orange Sanfrancisco (ZTE Blade) etc.. A lot of ebay junk only gives out 500mA!

This is a very good product. I had one of them delivered today (a few pence cheaper than this but we aren't allowed to mention Amazon marketplace and it really was only a few pence!) and would say go for it. The thing I really like is how it's almost flush with the cigarette lighter sockets. On my car it is only about 3mm that it sticks out. Any less and it'd be difficult to pull out.
#4
cold, less than a quid at DX.
#5
I opted for one of these a while back, didn't trust any of that tat on ebay.
Charged everything so far.
#6
Try 1£ shop!
#7
big difference in quality

Keep in mind it's only 1000mA so certain devices doing certain things will lose charge even whilst charging.

For example if you're running an Android phone using GPS with the screen on it'll be losing charge whilst plugged in.

Think my HTC Desire needs around 1500mA.

Good price though, £10 in Halfords, so this is a hot deal.
#9
Ya, rather lessen the risk of a couple hundred quid phone from being frazzled than shave a couple of quid off a charger.
#10
Got one of these - be warned, they don't work with the ipod touch 2g
#11
howdy

don't forget quidco

a mighty 5p-ish back on this one! every penny counts these days :)

had the tracking email... 14p :)

Cold, you can get these far cheaper on ebay. Maybe not Belkin but so what?
You don't get all that useless packaging either.

For the desire tthe trouble is with the 500mA ones, the 1000mA are fine.

Nice price. Was after a couple of these. Thanks.

Yep, got one and it charges my iPhone 4 no problem.

Cheers - Ordered. We have a house full of iPods, iPhones and the like, so this will be invaluable on trips/holidays.

Been using one of these for some time now - would recommend it. It was a squeeze to get it in in my car, but luckily I've a spare socket so this one just stays there permanently.

Great for cars with these sockets in the armrest where you don't want it sticking out too far.
#21
Have this in my car. No complaints as yet.
#22
Ordered 3 for the cars. Much better than those big sticky out ones.

Thanks OP

Does the dx one fit flush to give an OEM look or does it stick out a little like another poster says about this belkin one?

Also is it paypal only with dx or can you pay by card. Anyone?? Thanks

more likely to frazzel the fuse

warning for HTC Desire owners. Although this is capable of outputting 1000ma, the Desire will only draw 500ma as it thinks this is a USB computer supply (limited to 500ma). it will charge the desire but doesnt deliver enough power to run the screen and GPS at the same time. so if using for a sat nav you will loose charge.

There is a simple fix for this if you are handy with a soldering iron! take it to pieces and short the two middle 'data' USB connectors. The desire will now see it as an AC USB charger and draw the entire 1000ma. had to do this on two of these belkins and work as they should now,

another point to mention is that the profile of these is quite 'square' and they dont fit in some cigarette lighter sockets properly - eg freelander.
#26
Ordered 2, thanks for the heads up
#27
I had one of these and it wouldn't charge my iPhone 3G. I got a Griffin PowerJolt instead which works just fine.

The Belkin was discrete, but didn't have enough juice for my iPhone.

thanks. ordered one!

i bought on of these from DX and I cannot listen to Radio 5 whilst its plugged in due to the interference. Anyone know if this one has the same problem?
#30
Will it work with ipod touch 4g?
#31
I was about to say how this is cold considering I bought one for 27p on eBay but apparently I'll get a burning smell with mine after 15 mins of use!

I haven't tested it yet so I guess I'll have to wait and see.

There's a selection of at least 10 on DX, all with measurements, I choose a flush grey one which matches my dash.
#33
ordered two for less than 3 quid at dealx, same spec as "quality brand"
#34
Voted cold!!! Much cheaper on eBay... found a 1000mA one on eBay which is only £2.69 and should work with I quote
''All Generation of Apple iPod and iPhone, PDAs, Nintendo DS, DS Lite, DSi, Sony PSP, Digital Cameras, all MP4 - MP3 Players including Sony, Samsung, Zune, Creative Zen etc and all electronic appliances supplied with USB cable''
#35
I want one of these for an iphone 4. What is DX?
#36
Can vouch for these. Bought an iphone charge unit. Has been perfect. Still charges while playing music by bt and using gps at the same time. Have ordered two, one for me (for the back) and one for the mrs!

Thanks op

Seems to work fine on my Desire. Charges it up while I have GPS, bluetooth and the screen on. It's never confused it with a data connection.
