Just to be clear, this:

Features
- Use motion to turn electronics on or off

Will require the additional purchase of a WeMo Motion.

Cheeky from amazon. They've used the same features text for both models. Well spotted androoski

Yeah, that's ONLY if you want the Motion functionality. If not the idea of this unit is that it can be controlled via mobile devices and services such as IFTTT.

Suspect an error as opposed to being cheeky.

Very mixed reviews.

These were fussy as f*** to get working right, but a lot better now with software updates etc.

They are adding LED light bulbs to the wemo system soon as well as light switches.

The light switches are available in other countries for months already, I think on the 110V system in the US but I think in the UK they are scuppered by Part P, and needing to be wired in rather than simply plugged.

The light switches in the US are single pole single throw, and I would need a DPDT gang switch so I don't think I'm going to be lucky.

They were doing this kinda stuff on the zx spectrum in the long long ago. Too expensive for something with such basic functionality. If they intergrated the circuitry into other devices (gang sockets, light switches) then they'd be inherently more useful

I played games on my ZX Spectrum as well, you'd think by now I would be able to plug a computer straight into my head REAL virtual reality...
