Great price considering I seen them not so long ago for £99

Does anyone know if these any good as I am loking for a SKYP phone and this has the benefit of having Wi-fi and not requiring a PC

Don't know much about SKYPE but I presume the calls are free as long as your calling someone else who has SKYPE and you only pay for calling someone that does not have skype?

yup... thats right.

yeah, i found this while looking for a cordless skype phone.

this has the advantage of working anywhere you can get wireless which is even better. even works on protected networks (as long as you don't have to type in a password via a web browser). great for travelling... can't help thinking it's worth the extra £15 over a USB cordless with a really small display!

should theoretically work with a USB-type car charger as well.

Thanks gary_rip for the info

Does anyone know what the clarity of the calls on these phones are like

A word of caution these are a brilliant concept, but quality is not there, it is the same as the skype/smc which I recently bought from Amazon and returned, as sound qulaity was very echo-ey, reception was poor and it kept dropping calls, if anyone has any feedback re this belkin please post.

Looks like the phone was a misprice as it is showing on their site now for £79.99 that's before you get £10 off for google checkout

first impressions are that the phone is just about worth £50. the screen is a basic TFT (like a cheap PAYG mobile)... no way to text or text chat, but voice seems OK on the test call using my own home network. signing in doesnt sign you out of skype on the computer, so i'm not sure what would happen if someone called and you were logged into both.

picking up networks is easy, as is logging in etc. i think my elderly parents could manage it. build quality is OK as well, the phone is just taller and squarer than a normal mobile but wouldn't stand up to being dropped too many times.

if you have wifi and a skype application on your mobile, i'd probably recommend that over buing a dedicated wifi phone, but £50 is OK as i was looking for a cordless skype phone anyway. probably worth keeping an eye on this deal to see if it comes up for £50 again.
