Voted hot here too, though if you don't need the PCI adapter, it's a whole penny cheaper for just the PCMCIA card!!

Note these do not work with VISTA.

This is really great for XP users, Heat and Rep added.
#7
Thanks, ordered one for my desktop (using a USB one atm, which is a pain in the backside) have some heat.
#8
You must have a pre-n router otherwise you will only get 54mbps from it.

Question
Can the Pre-N Desktop Card F5D8000 and/or the Pre-N Notebook Card F5D8010 be used on Windows Vista?
Answer
Although the F5D8000 and F5D8010 are not offically supported under or certified for Windows Vista at this time, Belkin Technical Support have tested it and found it to work fine on the 32-bit edition of Vista. The adapters do not work on the 64-bit edition.
#9
Belkin have by far the best warranty of any company - lifetime on their products and make use of their warranty service - really good.

These are one of the fastest 'Pre-N' cards too.
#11
Confirmed working with Vista.
#12
Works on 32-bit vista ultimate. Got one free with my pre-n router. Only used it once though.

tried the spport on vista basic, does not work with it,, got it working on on xp pc but the reception is terrible, as there is no real aerial, you will notice most wireless cards have huge ariels, its for a reason, your router might transmit N signal but this will not pick it up from the advertised distances. had trouble picking it from across my semi detached house. CHEAP TAT

..threw it in the bin and ended up using my old g PCI card.a bit pointless because I invested in the N router!!!!! I have since bought a better N PCI card with an aerial .. I think its a D-link works perfect,

be warned waste of money!!!!!! COLD COLD Freezing COLD

P.S. sorry about being angry I wasted alot of time and money with this

Ok I bit the bullet and ordered it for my 64bit Machine, it it dont work ebay time or put in old comp.

its funny because mine seems to work from the other side of the house which it has done for close on a year. You either had a faulty one which i doubt or you didn't set it up right if you stick it in the back of your PC or the side and put it a inch from the wall you wont get a signal or if you stick it by some devices that operate on the 2.4ghz frequency which are most things phone microwaves and so on in fact i don't know anyone that's had issues with these cards.
#17
Thanks this will come in handy
#18
These are supposed to have a really good reception, i remember looking at these about a year back and they preform a lot better then the standard PCI cards. HOTHOTHOT!
#19
Superb i have the matching router and one of these cards already. Superb range and speed with the partnering gear.

Now i can update the other machines in the house to the same speed :)

Anyone explain why we need blistering speeds when the best the 99% of broadband users can expect is probably somewhere round 8mb max download speeds from their ISP? Why does 300mb tempt one into paying for somethign we will never be able to make use of? Or am I missing something?

I know Virgin are advertising 20mb at the minute - but does anyone get anywhere near that? I am on 8mb and get 190kb/s download speed at best.

Probably because someone needs a larger coverage area or they might need to be transferring files a little faster than 54mbps. Its not just used for internet browsing. Also those people on 50mbps will probably never see their full speed from a 54mbps router so they would need it.

Ditto - I was right to be wary of this mob. Despite the throwaway price, I won't ever be ordering from these again. Just worried that they have my credit card number now :x

I have given up on Morgan after they made a dog's dinner of my last order with them - on calling them, the disinterest is amazing!
