I like ice-cream as much as the next person, but is this really a hot deal?
#2
Yup, when Ben and Jerry's is on offer I appreciate being made aware given we only buy it when it's on offer... so yes - a hot deal for me. Thanks for the original post.
#3
hot deal.
#4
Sorry... I don't care - this stuff is well over priced.

As nice as this stuff is, it is not worth the cost.

Cold.

You do know that this place is for posting deals? not personnal preference. If you find it cheaper else where then vote cold, dont vote it cold because you think the item is overpriced anyways. Same with games same with any item its overpriced, dont complain do you?

I know not a Hotdeal really , i mean there are always offers on this and other items in Supermarkets , dont need to post them all as i dont class them as Hotdeals.
Buy 1 fish finger get another free , buy 2 get 1 free etc list could be endless :-D

This icecream per tub probaly cost about 50p to make per tub

This is nice ice cream as a one off but i wouldnt eat more then 1 a month unless ya wanna get fat

Love the stuff. Voted hot even though I don't usually consider anything discounted unless it's half price.

Voted hot for the cold stuff.

Voted hot! Ben and Jerrys is the nicest ice cream you can buy in a supermarket. Unfortunately I'm on a strict and won't be able to stock up on these at the moment! (like I usually do when these are on offer)

Same here, I only buy this and Haagen Daazs when it is on special offer, I shop at that particular supermarket if I see they have an offer.

Voted hot. :)

But it isn't really a great deal.

This is why we can vote on a 'deals' heat. If someone (like me) thinks its a naff deal I will vote accordingly.

Some people get all upset at cold voters - hell lets just remove the cold and warm votes to keep some people happy.

Very rarely goes below £2.50 or so - or am I missing something? Looks a pretty reasonable deal to me.

I think people get upset about the cold voting when it is not justified. Yes, you could argue that Ben & Jerrys is overpriced but the the way I see it you're supposed to vote on the how good the deal is, not the product. A lot of the deals people post include items that I don't like, but if it's cheaper than anywhere else then I will vote it hot or warm if the discount is not big (as you could argue is the case here) but don't vote an item cold just because you don't like it or because it's overpriced in the first place. Find a cheaper price then I don't think anybody would have any qualms with you voting cold.

But I think IT IS justified. People will always have different opinions, but there is no way I'd be paying either the RRP for this stuff or this deal price.

this is also on Sorbet, so even if ur on a strict diet, u can get the sorbet instead!

Fair enough, I guess we just have different opinions about how the heat system should be used. From my point of view - is ben & jerrys overpriced? yes, would I personally buy it? no I wouldn't, is this the best price you can buy it for? no one appears to have quoted a cheaper price so I would say yes, and for this reason I believe it is a hot deal.

Farmfoods sold Ben and Jerrys for £1. It was not on special offer, that was the price. I don't know if they still do because I have not been there for ages

Farmfoods did sell Ben and Jerry's for £1 from time to time (none there now, and hasn't been any for months) but only because they were getting rid of the discontinued flavours which they got hold of very cheaply. There would be just one, maybe two, flavours, and, as I recall, one of them (I can't remember which) was pretty unpleasant and hung around the stores for months.

Vote hot! I love ben and jerry's, it's great when one supermarket has it on offer the others usually follow and I can stock up! Tends to go quite quickly though... ooops. :)
