Beneath a Steel Sky - back in the days before Lucas Arts REALLY got going with Monkey Island, there was Beneath A Steel Sky. Only £1.79 on App Store/iTunes, it's easily got 20 hours gameplay in it, as well as being a fairly tough, but fun point and click adventure. Enjoy!

Originally? Late 80's/early 90's I believe. Was out on Amiga and PC

Wow, this is pretty good. Take a freeware game and resell it for £2 a copy!

Or you could just download it from http://www.scummvm.org/ - which even has an iPhone port. And a PSP port. And a DS port. And a Windows Mobile port. And ...

Plus for FREE you also get Flight of the Amazon Queen and Lure of the Temptress.

Colder than the sea under the Artic, I'm afraid. Might even be a breach of copyright.

Good price for the iPhone version (I believe they redrew some comic panels for the intro cutscene, among other tweaks).

Here's a link to the PC game, which Revolution Software released for free several years ago. You'll need ScummVM to run it, so conveniently that's the site where you'll find yourself once you follow this link:

You're right, you can download and run ScummVM on the iPhone, however you need to first jailbreak the iphone, then find the rom, then FTP into the phone to run it. Full instructions on the ScummVM website but you have to jailbreak your phone. Which you didn't mention.

Didn't know you had to jailbreak it... but the game is right there for free in full on the ScummVM website.

Yes, March 1994.

"Beneath a Steel Sky 2" was considered in 2004/2005 [ http://www.steel-sky2.com ] but the project didn't gain any momentum into development.

Decent game, came on something like 10 or more disks when first released. Has the voice of Jason Isaacs as the robot I think it was.

Didn't Jason Isaacs play "Ken", and the robot was called "Joey" (built by the boy, Robert [Foster])?

I'm not entirely sure what you're referring to as a "free rom" but just for clarification, Revolution Software released the game for free themselves. Thanks for paying attention to my first post...

I also don't think it's fair for everyone to suddenly attack Mr Velvet for just supplying some information. I only disagree with him that this would be a cold deal, as it's a great price for the game and anyone with an iPhone/iPod should get it as the developers deserve the credit.

It's been remastered, and looks prettier - heat! I'll buy this later...
