Similar to G2410HD but with HDMI and also its panel is full 24 inches unlike G2410HD's 23.56".

UPDATE : found another difference in spec from the other full 24" models... Its Pixel pitch is 0.2715 mm whereas others have a pitch of 0.276 mm

and quoting from wiki : "Dot pitch may be measured in linear units, usually millimeters, with a smaller number meaning closer spacing, or in dots per linear unit, for example dots per inch, with a larger number meaning closer spacing. Closer spacing generally produces a sharper image (as there are more pixels in a given area)."

Had read some pretty good reviews on the G24XX series, they use the same panel for all these models. Given the price range, Its definitely a good deal.

I am currently not in the country, If I were would buy this without thinking twice! Amazing spec for the price.

ALSO QUIDCO FOR 3%... ABOUT 5GBP OFF!

paid just under £140.00 for the E2200HD, 22 Incher about a month ago. Would have been happy paying £8.00 more for this one. hot
#3
Why will people vote this cold due to oyyy? Are they a retailer to avoid?
#4

A couple of questions thanks -
1. I want to connect my laptop (or one that I plan on buying) to this monitor. The laptop has VGA out. What cable would be required to connect it correctly?

2. I also want to connect my xbox to this unit. I would do so by HDMI, which can accomodate audio as well as visual, but with the lack of integrated speakers, how would you go about getting sound? The same applies to getting sound out of the laptop.

3. I have this monitor on order - http://www.dabs.com/products/fujitsu-22--wide-5ms-2xhdmi-tft-black-62CQ.html?q=fujitsu%2022 - but it is out of stock. I still have a enough time to cancel it and order this. Should I do it? What would everyone recommend?

4. Is switching source inputs easy?

Thank you very very much in advance!

I bought the G2410HD off oyyy a few weeks ago. First time I ordered from Oyyy as I was quite wary of them (dnuno must be the company name!), but they seemed ok and I got the monitor the next day.

If this is the same as mine, but with an extra HDMI, then this is well worth it. The picture quality on this screen is awesome.

- A regular VGA cable like you use with a PC to monitor.

2. I also want to connect my xbox to this unit. I would do so by HDMI, which can accomodate audio as well as visual, but with the lack of integrated speakers, how would you go about getting sound? The same applies to getting sound out of the laptop.

- The xbox elite comes with an adapter to use HDMI and have separate audio output via optical or stereo leads. The others do not come with this, but you can modify your existing adapter to do the same job. Your laptop speakers will still work even though the audio is going over the HDMI cable.

The xbox adapter looks like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24868~r.91142929 and costs about £5

- I would rather have a 24" monitor that's in stock, but the supplier sounds like they have a bad rep.

4. Is switching source inputs easy?

- I don't know.

Hi there, There are 2 benQ Monitors on this site that look tempting> I am confused and wonder if anyone could help, this one is listed as having an HDMI connection, but the other 24inch BenQ is listed as not having the HDMI connection but classified as Full HD. Please see bellow. Anyone got any ideas?? Thanks a Lot

BenQ G2420HD Widescreen Monitor 24.0 inch (1080i/1080p) TFT LCD 1000:1 300cd/m2 (1920 x 1080) 5ms D-sub/DVI-D/ HDMI 1.3/Headphone Jack (Glossy Black)Part #: 9H.L3: ALB.QBE

But there is no VGA port on the monitor?

D-Sub = VGA :)
#15
The thing is, these monitors are very similar, but one says HDwith no HDMI and the other doesnt but does have HDMI???
#16
You can have Full HD without there being an HDMI port. DVI does exactly the same thing but without the luxury of carrying the sound signals. VGA also does full HD, in analogue.

Precisely, HDMI is a connectivity advantage... for instance, if you have PS3, XBOX, or even Zune HD ,, you can hook it up to your monitor.

Ordered. Voted hot. Been looking for the right Monitor for months.

Thanks for the responses, but what I want to know clarify to chose the screen is:
Is the screen with HDMi but not stated a with Full HD a worse screen than the Screen Called Full HD without HDMI?
Does that make sense?
#20
Full HD just means the screen is capable of displaying a 1080p picture, as opposed to just HD which may only have 720p.

"HDMI" on the other hand is just a connection. If it has HDMI it means you can plug anything that has a HDMI output (i.e. Sky HD, xbox 360).

If a screen only has DVI, then you can still plug HDMI output devices into it, but you'll need a HDMI to DVI adaptor.
#21
Thanks a lot for your help everyone, bought one H&R added. These were talked of highly in Custom PC Magazine, that is the 21.5 Inch HD version, specek looks the same.

Full HD refers to the resolution 1920x1080 a.k.a 1080p

HDMI is a connectivity option, like VGA, DVI, etc.

HDMI is the same as DVI, except that it also carries sound, as I mentioned earlier, it is useful if you have devices like PS3, XBOX, or a PMP that has HDMI connectivity. It makes your monitor future proof as HDMI is increasingly found in many devices these days.

A screen with full HD with or without HDMI refers to the same resolution. HDMI has got nothing to do with quality.

But at times there is a very slight improvement (very unnoticable for normal users) in the image quality when connected through HDMI rather than DVI. But both DVI and HDMI are a whole lot better that D-Sub (VGA) because these are digital signal, where as VGA is analogue.

@logix88: Just to point out, that would be a positive difference, as it has closer spacing and will (theoretically) produce a sharper image.

I was torn between this or the Dell 24" to replace my 19" Hyundai L90D+. The specs are almost identical... but:
BenQ seems sharper: 0.2715 mm vs 0.276 mm (Dell)
Warranty: Dell has 3 yrs swap out warranty, but can't tell if BenQ offer the same 3 Yrs (can anyone confirm?... the BenQ G2410HD says 3ys!)
Price: BenQ £147.65 (3% Quidco) Vs Dell £175 - price just shot up while posting this!!!

Voted Hot! And ordered! Can't wait!

I think this is a great alternative to the Dell, but I believe the pixel pitch is the same (official specs). It's the G2410HD which has 0.2715mm pixel pitch, but that's because it's a 23.6" rather than a 24" display. I emailed oyyy on Friday evening to ask them to confirm the warranty on the G2420HD but haven't had a response yet - I'll post if I get one and nobody else has confirmed. This is the monitor I would be buying if I hadn't managed to get the S2409W.
#32
Thanks asb. Well spotted!
#33
Benq don't do themselves any favours with their graphics, from what I can see from users photographs the monitors don't have those horrible silver angled parts but it almost put me off as I thought they did, they look horrible in the photos but nice in the flesh.
#34
Did anyone receive their unit, someone should have.... post pics, thoughts, vids, curious to know :)

Just ordered, was going to go for the Dell before it went up in price, but both are pretty much the same, so hopefully it will be ok.
