Has been cheaper than this a few times, most recently £129.99
#3
Yeah this is actually a higher price than it has been previously unfortunately.

Also the G2420HD is £15 more but has HDMI in too

That's true but it's actually one more input as well, which means you can switch between connected devices.

Sorry if I didnt see it in the spec or on the reseller's website, but does either model come with in-built speakers, no matter how loud they may be?
#9
That's a negative, at least on the G2420HD
#10
@thedeep it doesn't come with built in speakers.

Personally i opted for this one over the G2420 because the monitor doesn't have built in speakers, so the sound signal from the HDMI cable seems useless to me and the DVI image signal is exactly the same as HDMI. I plug my speakers directly to my computer..

However, i would see the use if you were using it as a tv or you used it for your gaming console..

Cheers for the replies guys!
I was considering getting the Philips 230C1HSB 23" Full HD Monitor @ Ebuyer for £155 but the G2410HD and G2420 are better and larger alternatives.
If you are going to have a large monitor, better to have separate speakers anyway, but def would be nice if using as a stand-alone option.

16:9 perfectly displays Full HD.
OK
16:10 stretches or distorts images to meet Full HD signal.
Bull***
16:9 allows you to enjoy the entire image.
Yes but so do any other shape. Just that with 16:9, a 16:9 movie will fill the complete screen without leaving any blank. However, movies are not generally film as 16:9, it's just a TV widescreen ratio compromise
16:10 creates visual interference with the black bars.
I gues that can be true. If you find that small black bars at the top and bottom of the screen destroy your visual enjoyement while the 1.5" of black plastic that is the frame doesn't...

The problem with this rubbish is that manufacturers are trying to sell cheaper lower resolution monitors and make it sound like they are doing you a favour. They are not. This is a monitor, not a TV. As such, it should prbably be used more than 50% of the time to do something else than watching 16:9 movies. I may well end up being a 16:9 monitor because of the awful price premium for a 16:10 1920x1200 WUXGA monitor but certainly not because a dodgy marketing blurb!

Not a bad price for 24" but probably not the best.

Try this 21.5" LED backlit, seems a good price to me :)

well with shipping & VAT included, it comes out to roughly £120, i'd add another £20 for the extra 2.5"

Its £132.50 if you pay by debit card at Kikatek.com or £133.16 by credit card

The BenQ G2420HDBL at Okobe seems to be a better bargin if the listed rp is correct 49% off down to £137.28. LED technology but no HDMI:thumbsup:
#17
Am I missing something here? The G2420HDBL does not have HDMI, well mine doesn't. Just DVI and VGA.
#18
For £140 it is really worth it. Had mine delivered yesterday
