Probably because it's not a £400 Sony or suchlike, usual reason!

Not bad. I'd choose it over Acer & some other makes.

I think the main difference is that this is 24" & the Samsung one is 23".

Now if there was ever a better reason to comment if you vote cold

Looks like a nice deal, shame it's not 16:10, would prefer the extra pixels :D

Good make, however not quite 24"
"LCD Size 23.56" Wide ";-)

just had an email from cdiscount advertising a 20% account credit and free delivery this weekend so may make the samsung the better deal. Enter BANKHOL20 at checkout.

the 1900*1080 is a little bit annoying though... makes it wider...
very good price...still considering :)

Viewing angle (170 / 160) suggests it's a TN but really it's not a bad price for a HDCP compliant monitor. If I were you though and can afford one, go for the proper BenQ FP241W 24 inch http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?products_id=19796&source=froogle

Well the BenQ G2400 was the best cheap 24" screen on the market, That was a 16:10 screen though, so this isn't simply an updated version and I don't know what it's like.
#13
The BenQ FP241W was one of the best reviewed 24" LCD screens around at the time, but AFAIK it's not manufactured any longer.
There seems to have been a shift towards making TN panels mainstream. These are fine for gaming (low input lag) but lack the picture quality of the more expensive screens.

lol might as well buy a touchscreen monitor then...
#16
Benq used to be an spin-off Acer. They sell very good products... or at least as good as the competition :p
Just in case don't compare this monitor with a Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP, but you can compare it with other ""lower"" end 24" monitors
#17
Bought one yesterday after trawling the net for a few hours. Will leave a quick review when it arrives.

Hmm, 24" BenQ 1080p monitor for ~£150, or a 26" LG 720p(1366x768) lcd tv for ~£300.

Obviously not entirely the same product, but stick a tv decoder in your pc & you've got yourself similar capabilities for half the price =|
#19
This is an amazing deal for a monitor which has 1080p , 2ms response time (amazingly quick, great for gaming) and a greate contrast ratio. Voted HOT!

does that mean that its 23.56" Wide (length of screen) or is that the diagonal viewing length of the screen?

Diagonal

The price alone should tell you that it's a TN without having to look up the specs

Tempted for one to use as a dual-monitor set up, but not sure how much use it would get, mainly would be nice for my 360 as I'm currently using a SyncMaster 2032BW for it which is a bit small for my liking. :)
#24
Considering this is 23.56", I'm tempted to go with the 23" from Cdiscount. It also seems to have a better spec + with the 20% account credit, makes it a better deal imo...

I was going to put this deal on last week, but I thought ebuyer was band from here? :x

They were, but now they're back - read the Ebuyer thread & juliet_bravo's post yesterday afternoon:
[B]Ok, we've had assurance from Ebuyer that this won't be happening again and that they've taken tangible steps to ensure that - so we've now taken the ban off and Ebuyer offers can be posted again.

I think a DVI-HDMI cable or adapter will do (£3-4 @ 7dayshop). For sound you'll need to hook up your PS3(?) to external speakers.

I'm probably talking rubbish :whistling:

Don't expect this to cope with the low quality DVD and freeview content as well as a TV - this is a monitor so it's job is to be at least reasonably honest in representing the signal it's getting rather than giving you the best picture possible.

Ah right , today I provided a link to the same monitor at IT247 for £12 cheaper delivered, but cannot remember where! Quite possibly in another forum even
