This projector is £599.99 on dabs.com and the BT shop, without a free xbox.

oyyy.co.uk are doing it for £598.99 delivered with a free xbox arcade worth £150, so essentially a HD projector for £450, which imo is a great deal.

I have the Benq W100 and its an awesome piece of kit.

Here's a description for the projector.

The W500 maintains high contrast, whatever's on screen and wherever you're watching. The W500 features an iris-like lens design that mimics our own eye, adjusting the aperture after analyzing the incoming video signal. The aperture is contracted during dark scenes for truer black tones and enhanced detail, while it is enlarged for bright scenes to maximize light output and enable a wider dynamic range. The W500 is designed to give you pristine HD-quality video even when the source is noise-ridden SD. The W500 analyzes multiple frames in source video to identify and then eliminate pixels giving rise to visual noise, and also corrects for distortions resulting from too much compression. The W500 remedies shortcomings in regular projectors when it comes to handling fast-changing video content.

Sophisticated Multi-Dimensional Diagonal Filtering (MDDF) technology smoothes away the jaggies that crop up along the edges of moving objects-even those lying at shallow angles of 5° to 7° while regular filters can only handle larger angles from 30° to 45°. Getting the widest possible range of colours and displaying them with precision accuracy is another key advantage of the W500. The W500 achieves greater colour accuracy by handling each colour signal in the video input individually, applying its brightness value directly in rendering the video. The W500 gives you access to both newer digital and traditional analogue video formats with its wide range of connection interfaces. You don't have miss out on any of the fun.

Spec

* Bundle: BenQ W500 DLP Projector + FOC XBox 360 Arcade (Including 5 free of charge Arcade HD-games)
* Contrast Ratio: 5000 : 1
* 16.7 Million Colours
* 1100 ANSI lumens
* Lamp Life : 2000 / 3000 Hours
* An eye to great viewing: The W500 features an iris-like lens design that mimics our own eye, adjusting the aperture after analyzing the incoming video signal. The aperture is contracted during dark scenes for truer black tones and enhanced detail, while it is enlarged for bright scenes to maximize light output and enable a wider dynamic range. No matter what type of content is on, the W500 ensures that you get the very best viewing experience
* Senseye Clarity Enhancement: The W500 is designed to give you pristine HD-quality video even when the source is noise-ridden SD
* Go HD: The W500 not only converts SD content such as analogue TV broadcasts to HD-quality video, but it analyzes an amazing 1,024 pixels in the source for each pixel in the final HD version for native HD-like picture quality
* Stop the noise: The W500 analyzes multiple frames in source video to identify and then eliminate pixels giving rise to visual noise, and also corrects for distortions resulting from too much compression
* Senseye Motion Optimization: The W500 remedies shortcomings in regular projectors when it comes to handling fast-changing video content
* Make the jaggies go away: Sophisticated Multi-Dimensional Diagonal Filtering (MDDF) technology smoothes away the jaggies that crop up along the edges of moving objects-even those lying at shallow angles of 5° to 7° while regular filters can only handle larger angles from 30° to 45°
* Look deeper: To remove artefacts around moving objects that result when converting interlaced SD video to non-interlaced HD video, the W500 examines twice as much data-four fields instead of the usual two-using advanced motion-adaptive de-interlacing
* Senseye Colour Management: Getting the widest possible range of colours and displaying them with precision accuracy is another key advantage of the W500
* Colour correctly: The W500 achieves greater colour accuracy by handling each colour signal in the video input individually, applying its brightness value directly in rendering the video. In contrast, regular projectors use a sampling process, which inevitably results in a loss of information about specific colour signals and colour distortion in the final projection image
* Easy Installation and ease of use: Despite its rich feature set and flexible configuration options, the W500 makes getting things just right sublimely easy. And not only brings together the features you need, it's a genuine pleasure to use
* Functions: Dynamic Iris, HQV picture quality, Dust proof with air filter, H and V lens shift, HDTV compatible, Professional digital AV input (HDMI)
* Stunning Silver Finish
* Three years warranty

good find - would the COLD voters please explain ?
#3
i'm guessing people just vote cold if they don't want it.
#4
dont suppose you know what would this be like with an xbox 360? im thinking a 9' screen for playing pro evo..

This seems like a great deal. Added some heat to take the chill off.

I think that if you've voted cold you should say why... that is the whole point of the system... I guess some people just get carried away by the 'power' to reduce the temperature!

Thats pretty much what i have with my W100.

I run it through a component cable and have a eight and half foot screen size, projected from twelve feet away.

Mine only has 2500:1 contrast, which is half of the W500's awesome 5000:1. Also i only have DVI whereas this has a HDMI input, which is great if you have an Elite.

The only thing with my W100, aswell as this W500, is the Lumens, with 1100 Lumens you would need blackout blinds to play if the daylight is shining through your windows, or like me, hang a bed sheet over them.

The picture is awesome on this and i cant recommend it enough. There is another websie doing it for £35 less, but even if you don't need the 360, buy it from oyyy and sell the box on ebay.

The link below will tell you what size image you'll get. just slide thethrow distance slider to what length you'll be projecting at, and it'll tell you what size screen you'll get.

This projector is simply awesome!

I got this before xmas for £670 (with the free XBox). I've got it hooked up to the XBox, stuuning quality which is preventing me from going to bed at night - i'm now nocturnal.

Be warned - this projector has no sound or sound throughtput.

When I bought one in 2007 I also had to buy the official microsoft 360 hdmi kit to get the audio adapter.

Should be fine if you want to use component.

Picture is fantastic and gives a very large screen - even when it's not too far away from the wall/screen.

Also has the ability to manipulate the screen shape and get a perfect rectangle even if the projector is pointing at the wall/screen at an angle, (forget the name for it).
