I am on the hunt for a decent Gaming monitor to supplement my new set up.
Had a look at reviews and this seems to be up there with the best!
Had a look on Amazon and it's the cheapest its ever been! I know its not 1440p and people will moan that the pixels will be the size of your fist at 3 feet away but 1080p is still fine for many people and it has 144hz so should be liquid smooth!
If anyone has any other suggestions then please let me know as I am thinking of taking the plunge on this one!

Purchased this just a few weeks ago for £340 off Amazon. It's a decent price now but not that good. Best gaming monitor on the planet though, absolute awesome.

Thanks for the feedback, what gpu you running? I have a gtx 970 but also run 2 extra 24inch 1080 screens. If I get this it would be my main screen. How hard would it be on the gpu running this screen at max for gaming? (Other 2 are not used during gaming)

should have no problems running 1920x1080 with any current game on max settings

Been looking at the BenQ myself along with a few other of similar specs. This looks pretty good considering how much cheaper it is:

Iiyama Prolite GB2773HS-GB2

Still not convinced by the TN panels though, since moving to a BenQ VA panel a couple of years ago I've got used to the better all-round image quality, even at the expense of the slightly poorer response times. Not a big FPS player, though, so no big deal for me.

Is there a 24 inch version of this?

Is there a 24 inch version of this?

Yeah, just go to the op's original link and select the 24" version

The only thing to consider is 1080p on 27" is noticeably less sharp than say a 24". As someone who owns a high end 1080p 27" monitor I actually wish I had gone for 1440p

That's the other dilemma I have! Is it really worth it going to 1440p? Or just go the whole hog and get 4k? I guess its down to preference, I mainly use my workstation as a workstation with occasional gaming. Would love to go 1440 or even 4k but cant really justify it according to my own usage

At 1440 a single 970 is still strong but for 4k you need 2x 970's or 2x 980's so the price jump is significant

Yeah I hear that! Think I may stick to 1080 gaming for now! Cheers

Its not as simple as that. You want to be running games at the monitors refresh rate, which is 144hz. You would really need two 970s to run games on max settings and offer frame rates like that.

OP I would consider a 4k screen instead. I have one ran by my 970 and games look amazing at the res. I had a 1080p 120hz screen before but this has been the best upgrade in a while.

Thanks for the input, mind me asking which screen? I had a look at these Qnix korean jobbies but wasnt too sure on them!

I don't follow your post. You state you paid £340 (£20 more) for this but this lower price is decent but not that good... So where did you see it cheaper and why did you then pay over £20 to get it from Amazon?

I went for the iyyama, seemed to get the best reviews for price and quality. I'm very impressed by it.

+1. I would seriously consider the iyyama monitors.

I have this monitor and its a beast for gaming really is when you get the settings correct. But as said before in a previous post I wish I went 1440 as I don't game enough. But if you game a lot it's a great screen. Also to note if you do get this the touch buttons on the screen are horrid.

Look at the AOC G2460PG G-Sync monitor, it can be found for roughly £300 and it has a 144hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time.

Novatech still misselling the GB1 as a GB2 eh? GB2 has displayport instead of VGA, at least it's the GB1 price point.

Wanting a 1440p Monitor but posts like this make me wonder is it worth the upgrade, tend to play a lot of fps so the extra hz is a bonus, rog swift is just too expensive for me right now

Basically, I just wanted the monitor and bought it straight off Amazon Prime, I wasn't looking for it to be on a deal or anything. £340 was just the normal price I've seen it on Amazon for ages and in a few other places, £20 off isn't really a deal.

From what my eyes are seeing, coming from the previous 24" BenQ gaming monitor, the 'sharpness' is just as sharp on this 27" BenQ. Infact, I think it's sharper! I primarily use it just for my PS4. I have left all settings on default except for Blue Light, Brightness and Contrast.

Obviously the 144hz is pointless for me right now as I don't have a gaming PC and 3D is just a throwaway, I'll never use that.

Anyone can advise on which one to go for?

Acer XB270ha http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00LX2J17W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

or the BenQ? Mind is leaning towards the Acer because of G-sync but need outside opinion.

Thx

quick question, should I wait for a G-sync version or go for a normal 144hz gaming monitor?
