That's just their normal price (as MFI did, they put it high for a while and then discount it). I bought one but found it very uncomfortable and returned it.

The normal price is £46.99, its on offer for £29.99. I have this one from Argos which is £89.99 and very similar to the one on Viking. A Very comfy chair which I've had for years.

They are not very comfy and leather is a bit cheap looking IMO

Agree, just about to upgrade mine to something more comfortable. These are fine for occasional use but not for long periods.

I find them very comfortable and have lasted over a year without wear or lifter breaking - something of a record.

Come on, it's a £35 chair FFS! :| Show me a leather faced, executive style chair which is cheaper.

I'm sat in the cream version of this,as I type. Very comfortable it is too.

I bought the cream version of this about two years ago. It hasn't seen an amazing amount of use, but the leather has already badly disintegrated where I sit on it (I'm definately not fat, 75kg!).

Leather is supposed to last a *lot* longer than two years.

Spooky. I'm sitting on something else as my previous vesion of this chair just had it's arms snap off - i came to Hot Deals looking for a replacement chair and low and behold what's top of page one?!

I've had this one for about three years at a guess, probably opt for something else different if I can find something for a similar or slightly more expensive price.
#16
Not sure if I'm missing something but am I right in thinking it's not back adjustable, I need to get my lean on :3

Arms snapped off on my old chair, but the arms were plastic not metal, which is what this one is. Funnily enough I bought this exact chair 4/5 months ago and it is great, shame I bought it for £50!

Hard chair? You sure you took it out of the box? No problems for me, infact it's very comfortable.

Had the cream one when they were on here for £18 a few years ago, really liked it! On the day I moved out of uni I put it outside house ready to go in my car, the chair and arms were apart from the stand and wheels. Some old guy collecting metal came round and nabbed the bloody thing :( Absolutely gutted still haven't replaced it!

Costco used to sell a very nice chair for around £100. I bought one about 2 years ago and it is very sturdy and comfortable.

I am sitting on one right now, bought about 2 years ago - two for £47 total.

It can't possibly be real leather? The material started ripping within a few months, so it's very weak (the base part you sit on). It didn't rip at the stitching, but right in the centre of the material out of nowhere. A small rip will turn into a big rip very quickly. My last chair of a similar price did not rip at all and it was used more heavily than this although the base and wheels of my last one broke into pieces where as this ones wheels and base are very solid in construction. The armrest material also has rips, but more cracking than complete tears. The nice hard cushioning does not last also. I had to put cushion on as the cushioning became non-existent and essentially i was sitting on a piece of wood.

Also, due to the construction, it sometimes makes a really loud cracking noise if you adjust you sitting position, so much so that at night if adjust my seating position, sometimes there's a sharp loud crack noise that disturbs other people in the house. I'm 11 stones in case anyone thinks it's all to do with me being morbidly obese or something.

Overall, good cheap chair that looks REALLY good, but i wouldn't rush to buy this again. The crack noises are really loud and it's due to the construction and not something that you can fix with lubricant and the material is weak and rips.

Although the one i bought for my relative (the same one), still looks brand new oO - But they don't use it as much whereas i use mine every day.

EDIT: In trying to give a little more insight, i thought i'd test the material and see if it would rip with my bare hands, i only meant to try and rip about 1cm, instead now i have a new sideways rip of 1 & 1/2 inches. It ripped really easily like paper :(

Comfort wise, then this one looks nice on eBay: 400144980957

I've made the mistake of buying leather office chairs over the years, and although they look nicer, they are a lot less comfortable than fabric covered ones, unless of course you fork out £150+ on one.
I currently have the more expensive leather one from Viking Direct which has the padded leather arms, but I still have to put a pillow on the seat due to the (lack of) **** padding :(

I have that same chair but in leather and its the best ive had , and im pretty sure it was the same seller, they sell customer returns from Viking, i think its around £150 on Viking for the leather version but i got mine for £60 delivered its made by Niceday

Mine is Black version

thank you very much, im not really into the red though lol. have looked at his other chairs and he has some nice ones for sale, ive emailed em asking which one they recommend so hopefully they get back to me.

cheers once again, would never have checked ebay!

I bought the black one of these, and within a few months the seat started to come apart (rip as mentioned above). Had to get rid of it, but for some reason gave the cream colour one a go.
The first difference is that the cream chair had padded arm rests, making it much more comfortable than the hard black ones.
The chair seemed to last longer and I needed a 2nd, so have now had 2 cream chairs for well over a year (maybe near 2 years) and both are still fine.

Not the most comfortable, but can't complain for the price.
Would look for the padded arm rests though!

Edit: cream one still looks like padded arms, but £10 more:

I bought the white leather version of that from Viking, and sent it back.
Although the seat looks thick, and you would assume it would be soft and comfortable, it was like sitting on a futon - with no mattress!

Viking were great though, I clarified before I bought it that if it wasn't what I wanted, they would give me a refund (they have to by law but I wanted to make sure there would be no hassle). When they asked me to return it in the original box, I told them that it wouldn't fit in the original box because it had been assembled. They shipped me out a mahoosive box the next day, then picked it up the day after that, all free of charge.

The £16 odd 'silver' one I got a couple of years ago made the noises you're mentioning - it nearly drove me round the bend! No amount of WD40 etc would cure it, then one day it just mysteriously disappeared!

As for the covering, mine is definitely just vynil or PVC or suchlike. It certainly ain't leather, but still looks more than decent with no tears, though it wouldn't get a huge amount of use.

I think those ones may have been cheap that time because of 'faulty' piston assembly thingys making that noise, but it all came good in the end :)

Decent enough price for this one, assuming it really does have a leather facing.

Free Delivery - even to here in N Ireland, which is a novelty!
