I've just picked one of these up in Home Bargains, Wigan. We needed a new pan so got it anyway as I didn't believe the RRP - but just checked on the net now and it is correct! It's cast alluminium and a decent pan for the price.

Good bargain

You obviously have no clue so should refrain from making misjudged opinions. Berndes pans are top quality and much better than the typical Tefal crap you get on HKUD. The fact that this is cast aluminium makes it even better. Even at 40 quid this is a bargain.

If there is no other hidden meaning, its a bit of a moot point. Like saying I wouldn't spend £150k on a Ferrrari.

I wouldn't spend that amount on a frying pan either...

Oh well. Went to Wigan store and they had 3 on the shelf. All had their cooking surfaces marked to some extent. I found the best one and asked one of the staff if they had any better condition ones in the warehouse and explained why. This led to an offer to see if the Manager would discount the one I had in my hand. The mark was small but I was concerned that the pans may have a protective coating and a smal gouge may allow further damage. The offer was made again so I accepted. Long story short the Manager's message was they were all going to be sent back because they were defective.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if they were talking **** to their customer.
