Aldi always seems to sell their Pesto sauce for 99p for the same weight, I always buy it from there. I think the Aldi one is very nice, they do the different types green, red, etc, I compared the Verde and it had the same Basil content is Bertolli, so it's not as if it is substandard in any way that I can tell.

Hope this helps....

Why buy when you can make..all you need to do is grind the following ingredients in a pestle and mortar for 10 minutes and you have homemade pesto.

1 bunch(es) parsley, flat-leaf, chopped
2 tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
½ tsp sea salt
2 tbsp lemon juice, fresh
5 tbsp pine nuts, toasted, chopped
2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
30 g parmesan, freshly grated
5 tbsp olive oil, extra virgin

and at a great price as this is normally around the £1.70-£1.80 mark.
In my humble opinion, this is one of the best tasting pesto sauces out there.
Heat from me

I thinks it's worth pointing out that your recipe is for parsley pesto. Most recipes for pesto would have a couple of handfuls of basil instead of the parsley.

I think this was the one they did for 47p a few weeks back. I have about a dozen of them left :-D

Sainsburys sell that one...and I agree. It's quite a coarse grind which I prefer, though the Bertolli ones are a great flavour too

5 table spoons of pine nuts???

That would cost you more than £1 on it's own!
