Superb deal on the PS3... Wish they'd open a store in the east midlands!
#2
Did anyone visit another Best Buy store for the opening offers - if so, how did it go? Did they have plenty of stock and last a reasonable amount of time, or was it more like a few bargains for people prepared to queue up for hours?
#3
The Derby store will be opening soon
#4
Totally agree with the PS3 deal! Someone should really post that one up on it's own.
#5
Thanks for the tip - the signs outside just say opening in Autumn.
#6
hardly that great and the xbox deal is rubbish

I agree, especially as Sainsburys were going the Xbox with Fifa 11 and MOH for £149.99, this makes the 12 Months Live work out at a silly amount. Sure its not £129.99??

Good deal on the PS3 though, shame I prefer the XBOX (no wars on this please :-p)

Nottingham opens next year as well.
#12
Hopefully best buy will open a store in Brighton soon :)
#13
hmm, most offers seem to be on RRP. Are you sure teh xbox 360 is the 4Gb one and not the 250Gb one as if it's the 4Gb one, the price could probably be beaten.

I also remember the Toshiba 32" HDTV being £149.99 or £179.99 at other best buys when they opened.

Turned up at the Aintree opening a few weeks back at about mid-day and they had plenty of stock of all the offers. Got an LG blu-ray player/speaker system with 5 speakers subwoofer for £150 & Kickass on blu-ray for £10. So worth going down if fancy one of the offers.
#15
The Thurrock opening had tonnes of stock, there was enough for most of the morning on most items and all day on the best deal (the £199 32" tv).

The deals dont look as good this time though.

cant wait for that .
#17
I went to Thurrock/ Lakeside when they had that 25% off everything and it was awesome! :D
Love the store, attendants were actually helpful and wanting to help you - Possibly the best highstreet shopping experience I have ever had... Mind you, I did spill a few grand :{

Ill be there on Friday though, that’s for sure - Croydon is alot closer than Lakeside for me! :)

The other ones were just HD ready and not full HD.
#20
The Pioneer VSX-420 is also on sale for £130, they go for £220+ online.
#21
the TV they have on sale is is far better than the HD ready ones that were available at other stores on opening day. This is Full HD with freeview and USB socket. Def a great deal for taht alone, although that was posted seperately already :)
#22
Are these offers just in the Croydon store?
#23
Great deals if you can get there, and Best Buy seem to be leading the way for customer service at least in the few times I've been to the Thurrock one, they've always been really friendly and helpful and know a great deal more than the staff at their competitor's stores.

Huge quantities of all the offers at Merry Hill.
Not at all like PCWorld and co with their "three of each item"
#27
Wow the Samsung tocco light is a very very good price, tempted now??
#28
The deals get worse every time. The Aintree one had nothing that was worth queuing for either.
#29
chain isnt that good...expensive as other stores (other than the offers), customer service is garbage....they wanted me to return a £15 faulty item at my post expense or visit the store (110 mile round trip)...never again!

on a positive the southampton one had customer toilets...godsend if you have kids...and the staff were much much friendlier than the hideous hard sell muppets in pcworld, dixons, currys, comet (latter being the WORST - so bad that i was asked if i needed any assistance 12 time in 4 mins - the 12th time i told them to f off!! and im patient)

I went to my Best Buy Opening (Liverpool) and they had plenty of stock, I personally just picked up 2 Prince Of Persia Blu Rays for £10 each

The deals here appear to be at my local one too as I was there less than hour ago getting Iron Man 2 for £10!!!!
#31
Is that Sony PS3 price includes less VAT?
#32
'Croydon' lol hahaha X)
#33
Thanks for posting, heat added, but nothing here that really gets me going. I am not a fan at all of Currys/Dixons/PC World, but got some much better deals at the Currys New Malden Grand opening last year: 42" full HD LCD TV at half price (£200 less than anywhere else at the time) and a £100 sat-nav for £39. I also remember they had an Olympus E-420 SLR with lens for £200, which I didn't buy, but was annoyed with myself for weeks afterwards, as it was an excellent buy (at the time).

Nothing at all here to compare with those IMO. If I lived very close-by (which thankfully I don't!) I might wander by, but not worth a 6 mile journey.

PS. I was also interested to see their offer of 'up to £150' trade in if you buy a new laptop. I have got a couple of 4-5 year old fully functional laptops that would probably go for around £70 to £80 on Ebay. Got a price from Best Buy's website: £10 for one and £12.50 for the other, which just adds insult to injury. Presumably to get £150 in part exchange, your laptop needs to be brand new and actually worth £1000 - bah!

The difference is that Currys won't have had any stock left, five minutes after opening

??? - That's a bit unfair - they had loads of stock of everything at the New Malden Grand Opening - I saw over 100 units of the 42" TV I bought, which they must have been selling at a substantial loss. Can't see anything remotely comparable at Best Buy.

Does anyone know the specs of the Sony Vaio FE55x laptop on sale for £499? Ive tried hunting them down, but have had no luck.

Thanks!
#37
Here's hoping the Derby store will have some hot deals.
#38
The Sony A290 twin lens kit with carry case for £349.99 must be one of the cheapest twin lens kit deals around.
#39
Nothing to report then anyone?

Sold out !!
