Alot of people around the area of birminham/oldbury/west brom/dudley/rowley/ blackheath dont know about it

they do the BEST sausage rolls in the UK i would say, unlike most butchers who do massive puffs of pastry with a small slither of what is supposed to be meat and call it a sausage roll, bowketts actually have a HUGE sausage inside a nice flakey bit of pastry, available hot or cold!

http://www.bowkettsofoldbury.co.uk/

( No i do not work for bowketts, i just really like my sausage rolls)

at 80p for a large sausage roll, they're fresh. tastier and larger and cheaper than the next best available sausage roll aka ginsters)

Compared to asda/tesco welsh farms, and other little ones, ginsters large sausage rolls are the only ones that seem to have any meat in them.

True, Ginsters are way overrated. Supermarket own are often much nicer.

I have tried lots from across the country including scotland and wales (Scotland tends to have better sausage rolls)

My butcher won't eat another butchers' sausage rolls because he doesn't know what goes in them. He won't eat his own either because he does know what goes in them!

Ah, but our award winning Devon ones are far superior to all that Northern offal in a tube ;)

I like the sausage rolls from the McCandlish family butchers in East Kilbride. The sausage and pastry is lovely and they're only 80p for a large one.
