Bestway Lay-Z Spa Vegas only £203.99 @ Homebase when price matched with Argos (£239.99) then minus Homebase's 15% off everything this weekend.

I managed to get the price match no problem at £239.99 and then the 15% off came off automatically when they put it through the till.

Magga - did you have to go to customer service to get them to price match?

Any more details on the price match promise as not that familiar with it for Homebase.

I just went and asked at customer service desk and she said yes they can price match with Argos before even asking me what it was for. When it was put through the till the 15% just came off automatically after the cashier overrode the price.

Their normal price is £379.99 so it was quite a discount. They had another 2 left (that I could see) at this particular store and they were promoting them with one of their 'you pay today" signs for the 15% off weekend.

Thanks. Assume they can price match with Argos as they are all part of HRG (Home Retail Group).

When on offer I would say that £240-£250 is the usual target price so £203.99 is a steal. Enjoy your hot tub :)

Bought mine yesterday price matching with argos so missed the 15%! It took a bit of arguing with the manager to get him to agree to price match as "the price advertised was an online price". However I showed him a photo taken from the in store stock checker at argos and explained I could order it in store. He then said it needed to be in stock in Argos, but could not show me where this was a requirement in their price match policy.
Go armed with their policy (on their website) and don't relent until you get this for £203.99! Also the best deals I've seen on the Miami hot tub, which is the smaller one, has been £215, through tesco direct - so in fact this deal is daylight robbery.

Argos do actually have it in stock at the moment but when I tried to order the earliest delivery date was 25th July!

I had no problem getting them to do the price match in the Nottingham store so I'm surprised you did. Maybe I was lucky!

Haha the manager had tried going down the route of stating that Argos was an online store. When that failed he tried this whole "in stock" nonsense, and couldn't then show me where that was a requirement in their policy! Perhaps not, sounds like I might have been the exception. But yeah, Argos claimed a 5 day home delivery and then have dates a month down the line?! Who wants to wait that long for bubbles...

Yeah, shops often try to get out of price matching, but fair play to the store I went to, there was no friction at all!

Got one for £196.94
Price match to Argos £240, plus they take off an additional 10% of the price difference £8.30
(£379.99 less 15% today = £323 - £240 = £83)
then 15% off the new price: £231.70 - 15% = £196.94

Take printout of their price match policy on "Pricing" page on website, to show them the "10% refund of price difference clause" and the Argos page showing the £239.99 price.

Just decided to treat my son after seeing this earlier, went to Homebase and told them about Argos price, young lady checked on her phone and confirmed and all sorted. In and out in 5 minutes, got the 15% off no problem so paid £203.99 didn't ask about 10% price difference but I am happy anyway at £203.99.

Thanks magga for your post.

I would go back and let them know other stores are honouring the price and the 15% off, not sure how they can say "either or" to be honest but you do get the odd funny one.

I had decided to buy anyway and would have bought if they did not give me the 15% off and then took it up with head office for the difference to be refunded but fortunately I had no issues.

Good luck.

I asked them to price match argos + 15% which takes it to £202, I have worked out the maths and they have done 202 + 15% off :) guess I was lucky :)

Kingston park store wouldn't price match Argos, team valley store would but no 15% off, guess its luck of the draw who you speak to.
Didn't go in just rang up but you'd think they'd have a clearly defined policy
#19
Yea, one place I went to wouldn't do the extra 15% , went 10 miles up the road and got my deal :)

Clearly there's no consistency as always with these big companies. Well done to people who managed to get another 10% off with price match promise though!

I just spoke to the store manager & told him everyone else is getting the 15% off the argos price & he's going to honour it, yaaay! He won't do the extra 10% off the price difference though as argos & homebase are both part of the same group, home delivery group I think, thanks for this guys!!

I'm off to get one, wish me luck

Got the last one from Homebase Hessle, I asked if they price matched Argos and the lady said yes and what was it I was after, told her the lay-z spa and she said that's fine they'd already done one that morning , went through at £203 , well chuffed. Now just need to cancel the Lay-z spa Miami order I placed yesterday online with 15% off , unless this Vegas one won't fit on our decking in which case I dunno what I'm gonna do!

This is tempting but my practical head has taken over, I'd then want an outbuilding to put it in rather than leave it out in the elements - it's no fun in the rain, and if I'm going to that trouble I may as well get a more permanent unit. Good price for this though.
#27
hmmm seriously tempted.....looking at the price match policy and looks like they are within their rights to not take the 15% off but the 10% still makes it tempting, do i need one though...oO

After the trampoline deal and now this, those of us who just want to relax in our gardens in peace and quiet (without hearing kids shrill voices and middle aged couples copulating in what looks like an oversized paddling pool) are really out of luck this weekend.

I got one after ringing the store to confirm match! The manager on arrival refused but after I explained I had cancelled the argos one now out of stock and driven15 miles , I was not a very happy girl. Refused 15% but I have one instead of the wait! I think it's down to the server, as homebase is a branch of argos home I believe. One server had been told no matches other not. I got the non aware on the phone but the boss on the other end. Just be discreet as possible for a discount

Does anyone know if the price includes delivery? or if its to be assembled when ppl get it home? and does anyone have a figure on how many units of electric for 1 hour use please?

I was tempted with the Argos deal but this tipped me over. Just picked one up at Bredbury for £195.71. They have 4 left in the warehouse. Didn't get his name but it was a young bloke with a beard on CS desk. Said they didn't price match Argos at first. I said they did. Then I couldn't have the 15% as well. I said I could X) He phoned his manager who must have said it's ok. I then said I didn't have the cheek to ask for the 10% price match difference. He said you may as well go for it. So I said what about the 10% difference? He said 'done' - another £8.30 off. happy days. He said it's ok to pass it on to you lot.

if your going to buy a lay z spa I'd reccomend spending a bit extra and getting the bigger rigid walled monaco version if you can find that at a good price, I've been in both and the Monaco is a much better tub
