Betfair are matching the first bet for new accounts up to the value of £25.

The amount is refunded to the new account within 24 hours. This can then be WITHDRAWN, meaning the original bet is completely FREE!!! It is however, only matched if the original bet loses.

i did this last year on the national with betfair and my bet lost and got all the money back no problems what so ever

When setting up ur account with takes 2 mins use the promo code BET234 to get your matched bet

Discuss your Grand National tips and betting plans in the GRAND NATIONAL 2010 discussion thread.

This gets heat from me, as would any completely risk-free bet.
#3
just signed up :)

I registered with this and have now put £25 in my 'wallet'. I want to place a £25 bet, but I am given 2 options for the Grand National: 'Grand National' and Grand National TBP'. What does that mean?

Also, it says that they are suspended and bets cannot be placed. Is this right?

(can you tell I am new to this?)
#5
so if i put a bet on the national on friday i should have the £25 in my account before the race starts on saturday to put some bets on ? or will it be after the race ?

TBP is 'to be placed'

It should only be suspended briefly, while they amend selections, etc.

Looks like you should be able to get £20 Quidco too if a new customer

Are you sure the £25 can be withdrawn if the original bet loses?

I thought it worked like this.

You place a bet of upto £25 and if it lost you got another single bet of the same value.

doesn't say you can't withdraw the money if you lose and your money is refunded though ?

But you have no money to withdraw :?

You lose and they credit you £25 that has to be spent on another bet.

Really? The T''s and C's don't exactly make this very clear. Possibly changed since last year?

I just signed up by a friend referral instead as this guarantees it goes back into your wallet to withdraw.

With friend referral you deposit £25 and doesn't all have to go on one bet but once you spend £25, Betfair credit £25 into your account...and also give your friend £25.

PM me if you want an email with the signup code.

Can anyone tell me why this has been suspended for the last 48 hours? I've been back on several times and it has been permanently suspended! How are we supposed to place?

I'm used to them suspending when a goal has just been scored in play, or if a major announcement has happened, but what gives with the National?
#17
This is utter garbage. A classic bookmakers ploy.

You transfer £25 of your money from your bank. You bet it, you lose it. they will not just replace the £25 for you to withdraw it DUH!

YOU CANNOT WITHDRAW IT why are people so naive?

Same here although it does say it will take up to 48 hours.
#30
I never got to put the bet on!!!!! Was I the only one that saw it suspended for 3 days long?
#31
Sounds like you were looking at the antepost market rather than the live one. My wife was making the same mistake.

i got my money back :)

Has anyone had any luck with quidco?

It has tracked initially, then tracked again with my username being provided, but still is tracked at £0.00?
#33
I lost on the grand national using the £25 free bet offer and I have got my money back and transfered it to my current account. So the deal didn't have any hidden T&C's after all i.e. it wasn't simply a £25 credit available for betting only and not withdrawal.

Will be doing this again next year!!:)

Yeah - they only refund you your FIRST bet. Even if you put multiple bets on at the same time, they are still separate bets.

I fell into the trap of placing an each-way bet, which is treated as two separate bets so I only got half my money back. :x
#37
Cheers to Op

Had my no risk bet and the 25 winging its way back to me now

Just hope the quidco pays out and i'll be Ok........

Same here - so only getting £12.50 back - cheeky mother f*****s :x

Bit unfair treating an each-way bet as two seperate transactions! Quidco better pay out!

Thanks from me too.

Had £25 on State of Play to win the National. Shame it came in third but got the money back and it's on its way back into my account.

Also tracked on Quidco so should hopefully finish £20 up, in the end.

Me too, ah well! Hope the topcashback tracks but not sure if it will - didnt mention anything about using it in conjunction with an offer....
