Got back from lidl noticed that pomegrantes even tho advertised half price in papers and in the store they scanning at only 24p (1/4 of the price, plus way cheaper than tesco, sainsburys, asda they all about 99p - £1.59 each)

plus mangos went through at 29p, and 3 mixed peppers for 79p instead of £1.69

Dunno if any other veg is cheap like this. Also loads of frozen foods down to £1.00 (cant remember all of them but was 2 freezers full of things!!!!)

avacardos are 17p kiwis are 19p packs of 1kg apples 64p oranges are 12p

2x 2 litres of semi skimmed for £2 at Lidl, at the moment..
Even at full price of £1.48 for 2 litres that's cheaper than Sainsburys, Asda etc..etc!

Isn't it about time they made/invented/created seedless pomegrantes ? then they'd be a lot more fun to eat

...3 mixed peppers for 79p instead of £1.69...

Are you sure about that usual price?
I thought Lidl were supposed to be a discount supermarket.
According to tesco.com pricechecker:
MIXED PEPPERS 3 PACK
Tesco: £1.38
Sainsburys: £1.38
Morrisons: £1.38
Asda: £1.00
All prices listed were collected between 06 October 2008 and 08 October 2008

Premier - have you never noticed before that supermarkets list an inflated price when listing a 'super discount'?

Dunno what the problem is, but 79p for a pack of pepper is a good deal.
#22
just cause its a cheaper supermarket dont mean every price is cheaper lidl dont pricecheck

No, but I do.

These supermarket marketing gimmicks like "pricecheck" and "rollback" are just tripe :-(
Even more ridiculous is Tesco becoming "Britain's Biggest Discounter"
Don't make me laugh, selling a mountain of mechanically recovered meat in the form of 89p "sausages" isn't fooling me, rubbish is rubbish whatever the price. I want decent gear at low prices, I already KNOW I can get good stuff at top price, that's easy!

If something is cheap it is cheap, so what!? If it is cheap and good VALUE, then I buy it. Having a label with "Priceheck" on it means exactly nowt!

Anyone with the slightest sense of reality realises Aldi, Lidl & Netto are NOT always the cheapest - but in the same way there are some products that each sells that are always way cheaper than all of the others, or where the quality is simply streets ahead of the similarly priced item in the "main" supermarkets. The use of a bit of common sense and fickle shopping means for food shopping, I rarely bother visiting Tesco, despite being able to see it out of my 1st floor window, and it being the biggest branch of the lot!

I must be the customer all the supermarkets HATE, because I have a good memory for what I have in my cupboards, I know what I need, and what price I last paid, as well as what is on offer in which store, (thanks in part to sites like this one) I am not scared to stock up & bulk buy when I do find a decent buy, and I am also not often tied to particular brands purely for brand loyalty, brands or own brands need to EARN my loyalty!

I spend an enormous amount of money on food, certainly so when looking at it as a proportion of my income: I LOVE food, and am VERY picky about what I buy, but the last thing that bothers me is whether or not somewhere "pricechecks!" and without becoming a total slave to food shopping, I do monumentally well on my income!

Listening to some others on these pages, I am not the only one that shops this way, but equally clearly, some haven't got the first clue, and are simply being led along by the big-name supermarkets who are effectively "telling" them what to buy! :-(

I went into lidls today and everythig (well not everything but you know what I mean)was more expensive than it was 5 days ago. Scottish mice was 1.54 on sunday and now is 1.99 for example. Does the price fluxuate depending on the price they buy stuff in?
#25
we have a main price change on a sunday night ready for the monday and the main price change for f&v are on a friday morning
#26
i pick up certain stuff at lidl and do my main shop at asda as prices are diff in each supermarket
