With pancake day around the corner these are very handy for those who are pancake challenged like myself or just plain lazy..
Asda are selling the Betty Crocker pancake mix in a container where you just add water and cook.
individually proced at £1.29 or 2 for £1!, they also come with a 30p off next puchase voucher so if you can use it with other shopping in some stores takes it down to 20p a carton.

Now come on.....how hard is it to knock up a few pancakes.....I am no Delia or Nigella but even I can chuck a couple of eggs, milk and some flour in a bowl and whisk ! Still I will vote hot as it seems a good price!
#2

Eggs, flour milk. Thats all you need!
#4
How fresh do you think the contents of these bottles will be??
last time i checked milk and eggs had best before dates, would hate to be making pancakes with sour milk and foostie eggs,
#5
Thats always supposing the eggs in the fridge are in date! or even that you have eggs!!!!!
GOOD FIND IN MY BOOK!

Very as you have to find the willing participants. :whistling: :p

it is a goo deal but i find it more satisfying to make my own pancake batter, it is convenience products like this why some people find even simple meals difficult to make. Hot deal since the separate ingredients would cost over £1 to buy.

Pancake /batter mix at Tesco 10p ...

Batter mix like frozen Omlettes must be the laziest products on the planet....20p each i can deal with !!
#12
lol what next, ready cooked fried eggs?
#13
:thinking::thinking: Surely even a 5 year old can make a batter! :whistling:
#14
you can't beat this for pancakes
#15
Do they have the american style variety? If so it's a really good price as they are difficult to get right without buttermilk.

TESCO BATTER MIX............ JUST ADD EGGS AND MILK

Ha, that's brilliant.

How many pancakes do you estimate one of these bottles will make? We hold a pancake day every year and need the cheapest / easiest method to make about 300-400 pancakes. We normally buy the ready made ones and reheat them, but if these work out cheaper, then it's a trip to Asda to load up.

Just shake and pour? I wonder how well it works.

As there are generally only 3 ingredients in pancake batter Eggs, Milk, and Flour, I guess you have been buying tiny bags if flour for 10p each. I would buy a 1.5kg bag if I were you

Cool i always buy Aunt Bessies frozen pancakes so this could taste better. The Wife and Kids will love me much more for getting something that taste better than frozen ones.
#23
brilliant, anything that cuts down on the washing up is a thumbs up for me lol put water in the bottle, hand to kids to run around shaking them while you get the pan ready :) no bowl, whisk, mug/ladle to wash :)

it makes around 6 to 8 pancakes so you would need quite a few but if you buy them a few at a time and the second time use the vouchers from first time ect would work out cheaper than ready made ones i think

You can't be serious? Pancakes have to be one of the easiest things to make, come on guys :)

Surely 4oz SR flour, 1/2 pint of milk, pinch of salt and an egg isn't too taxing!!!
