got an email from them, the trade in offer is only on the elite models the 7000 and 8000 series. £599 is still a good price for this model. Shame I set myself a limit of £550 for it and £500 for ue40f6500. I'm terrible.

Cool. I saw that too, it's was with Peter Tyson I think. I've not hooked it all up yet, but should hopefully get it sorted tonight or tomorrow.
Yes I did see that offer and certainly if you didn't need the 3D Wifi Bluray player then that's a great price, but I certainly feel that paying an extra £85 for the same branded Bluray player with all the features you get, it's a good deal.

The 51" is NOT repeat NOT pentile. Only the 60" is pentile.
The item was open box Grade A but its was like new with 12 months warranty. Buy with nationwide with another 12Mths warranty. Not sure im keeping it may return.
Adam, can you please let me know where you bought it for £560?
Just got mine delivered yesterday >paid £560 with 1 yr warranty.
SD channels are quite washed out but HD are excellent. Not tried 3D yet but hope its OK.
The panel is pentile and some people look out for pixels etc but I'm not too into that..can't see them so wont look out for it.
I would advise to look at settings have a play and return if you can't live with it. To be honest i haven't decided to keep it but it beats the LG 50PH660V hands down with its superior pic and black levels.
It also inc 2 pairs of glasses and a blue-tooth remote.

I can accept that the picture on a plasma may start to fade after 10 years but its worth it for the superior picture quality.

Edit.. It would probably need to be on 24 hrs a day for those 10 years before it would fade

My experience with plasma hasn't been good. They either don't last long or get very warm.

I'd prefer to spend a little more for an LED and has it last longer and not get as hot :)

Poor example comparing theft with not complying with a retailers contractual terms. One is quite clearly theft, the other is most definitely not and would likely struggle to find its way into the civil courts. Its certainly not fraud in the criminal sense, and a good thing too, since that would inevitably lead to extremely punitive terms within consumer contracts.

technically if you want to be literal about it piracy ISNT theft either (despite what the advert says)

Piracy is theft, however as opposed to theft of a physical item it is not always easy to quantify the loss to the rights owner. For example an individual that downloads 10k tracks is unlikely to have ever purchased all those tracks. While the likes of the RIAA would quantify the loss as the cumulative sum of the value of all those tracks, that is clearly incorrect. The rights owners of some of those tracks will have suffered a real loss, as without access to them through illicit means the individual would have purchased them, others would have suffered no loss as the individual would never have actually purchased the track.

However, this does not mean that both instances do not qualify as theft. To provide an analogy, if I was to steal your car, put 10 miles on it and return it Undamaged, before you'd ever missed it, would you not consider that as theft? The pedantic may suggest there is a minuscule affect on residual value/wear and tear, but what if I left a tenner to compensate for that? I'm guessing both you and the law would consider it as theft (TDA in the UK to be specific), but there has been no palpable loss to you.

Now, people may or may not fraudulently sign up based on a code on the internet but I do not think you can vote this cold based on fraudulently being able to get cheaper elsewhere...... (otherwise ever game and blueray disk would be cold using bittorrent as a reason why)

meh Not 4K

At 70" I would ideally want 4K, but by the time 4K becomes available I am sure they will slip 8K in and you will feel like a right idiot for buying that 4K TV

LOL. Yep.
By that stage, the broadcasts will need to carry so much data that they will no longer be transmittable the way they are today, and they'll have to be done by laser, so we'll all need tall relay towers in our neighbourhoods, and then fibre-optic cable runs from those to our 8K TVs.
But you'll be able to spot each individual silk thread in Des Lynam's ties (he'll be long dead by then, but there'll be X-Ray cameras which will see into his coffin).

Good times!

But the actual temperatures (30,40,60 etc) don't ... so unless your in a well lit room you cant see it.

Guess there are plenty of cheaper washing machines... but for £320 which IMO is cheap you have a washing machine with peace of mine over 5 years, as currently you would have to pay nothing extra on labour and parts if it goes wrong.

If you need to go cheaper look at LG models which also caught my eye

Sorry I completely missed your post. I've been happily using mine, I like it. Quiet mode is really good but i've been leaving it on auto and bumped the sensitivity up to high. When it's meal time it quite often goes to red on the odour meter! It's difficult to say if it has improved my health as we started cleaning more around the same time (we had got a bit lazy) and I've recently got two kittens. Generally I've been sneezing less and my daughter has been better too. How about you?
Finally ordered a couple of days ago, should come through on Monday.
Any comments on the purchase?
Thanks for the info!

I've spent 358 on 2 nexus tabs without a second thought - but this, which will bring health benifits has me thinking twice?? I don't get that. Anyway, I'll do a bit more reading and probably order this, unless I can find this sort of spec without the humidifier option a little cheaper. Cheers!
I don't intend to use the humidifier part. I would be buying the A80(?) mentioned on the site but it doesn't appear to be available in the UK. If there is no water in it then it isn't that heavy.. thought I saw 22lbs.

Aye if it is in a smoking environment the hepa filter will need replacing sooner but based on the activity times from the review site (and elsewhere) it will take several years. Can't wait to get mine, the amount of wasted days I've had due to reactions..

Oh sorry I think a good hour on high is sufficient to get rid of 90%+ so I'll probably set mine to come on via timer before we get home or just when cooking tea etc. Then I'll leave it on low for a couple hours in the evening. Power consumption on medium and low is really good. Even high isn't terrible and I'm a electrical tightwad :)
t002236
Are these units portable?

I currently have an airfree in the room, but according to that review site it'll take ages to clean the air!

I want to rid the place of dust mites and other allergens but don't really want the humidifier cos the last one I used caused black spots on the ceiling, but if this unit is good then I'll give it a try...

You can move them from room to room but they are pretty big for an air purifier. They are however one of the best Air Purifiers and a lot quieter than the smaller ones due to the big fan. They also sense when the air is dirty and automatically go from standby to on which is something most cheaper purifiers don't do. One last point is the replacement filters are over £90 to buy. This won't be an issue to most people as they have a 5 year life, BUT that will be drastically reduced if you are a smoker.
