Ok so... we have seen a few of these pop up on here recently.
Most of them have been around this price or slightly cheaper, but this is one of the 'safer' cheap options for people worried about the items safety.
This one is ASTA Approved, Manufactured to BS 1363-2 and EN 60950-1.
So this one shouldn't* burn down your house whilst you sleep.
Worth the extra couple of pound for peace of mind if your worried about the cheaper eBay/Ebuyer ones.
The USB sockets also seem to be better placed than some others.

SPEC
White moulded outboard rocker socket with 2 x 2.1A USB ports. Ideal for charging iPads, iPhones, tablets, mobiles, cameras and more. Features angled, in-line terminals and includes backed out captive screws for easy installation.
Ideal Retrofit
ASTA Approved
Manufactured to BS 1363-2

These use electricity all of the time right? Not just when you have something plugged in...

Do the switches control the USB ports or are they permanently on racking up even more profit for the energy companies? I've answered my own question by looking at the pictures,as ReflexReact states they are permanently on.

I would think they will be "on" as in available all the time but only using any significant leccy when current is being drawn, i.e. when you plug in a device to charge.

British General 822U-01 2 Gang 13A Switched SP Socket with 2 x USB

Features:

2 gang switched socket with outboard rockers
2 x Type A USB sockets - 2.1A total output, 5V
Stylish modern profile
Covers to conceal fixing screws
Colour coded terminals with backed out captive screws for easy installation
Twin earth fitted as standard
Supplied with optional 10mm spacer for 25mm box retrofit
USB charger stand-by power made when not in use

They go into standby mode when not in use, which i would imagine uses no or VERY little power when not in use.

The switch position isn't great and will get in the way of many power bricks but otherwise seems OK.

Can't believe these are still so expensive compared to standard ones. Voted hot but I'll wait for them to come done to less than £10...
