HTC desire 825 for £166.00 @ bhsdirect!

11
Cheapest I've seen it. I know its not much bang for buck type of thing but I miss seeing capacitive buttons on a HTC handset. I probably don't say this enough but hey this deal isn't for everyone :-)

Maybe bhs direct sells electrical. Bhs direct has the same bhs logo as bhs.co.uk.
BHS?
sam_of_london
Bhs? Thought Bhs closed down already.

The website or bhs.co.uk was sold so it still lives on but only in the interweb.
Crumbs it's got a snapdragon 400 in it!
Way overpriced for the specs. My old LG G2 (Worth about £70 now,) would cream this.

Exeter store still has quite a few. picked up true detective season 2 for a quid!

These are all ex-rental copies so condition varies.
Additionally, by the time people have rumbled through, anything that was in a single wallet as a series is generally all over the place.
However, it's worth keeping an eye open for Blu-rays. I've seen Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, At World's End and Hangover 3 in the Watford store. Just couldn't bring myself to buy them!
A couple of PS3/Xbox 360 games can be found as well.

Yeah I got mine from the Watford Store

After all these years owning a 55"..... its too small for me. Im looking at 65's. but havent found anything worth pulling the trigger for. not looking for all super fancy features and stuff but whatever that new version of local dimming is called and 3d would be nice on a 4k set.

just bought the extensa from ebuyer nice laptop
also you get bulguard security for 3 pcs for one year
Not bad but this, below, seems like a better deal, to me. It has a more recent Broadwell i3 5005U CPU and HD5500 graphics, an incremental improvement but a worthwhile one. The Extensa models tend to have, or certainly tended to have when I last bought one, more solid build quality, being more orientated toward business users. I don't know if that is still the case and would like to see reviews on both models but, on paper at least, having had a quick look, I would prefer the £239 Broadwell based model, than this earlier Haswell one.

Fair point about BHS although it seems that their BHS Direct operation is run by the same company as Laptops Direct and I guess they just pass payments on to them... but good point that if BHS fall into administration I don't suppose you'll get much help from the processing company. Not really worth the risk.

Edited By: spannerzone on Apr 24, 2016 11:25
Better deals around and BE WARNED - BHS are quite likely to go into administration in the next few days. Not worth the risk even if it was a good deal.

Bosch genuinely aren't what they used to be...go on ebay or gumtree and you will find lots of them for spares or parts and not that old. Which recommend beko and a guy I know that refurbishes electrical said Bosch aren't all that anymore...... I wouldn't pay that for a tumble dryer...certainly no less than 9kg and all these electrical extras just give it more to breakdown lol........ It does look top of the range though!!!! Haha think I'll sit on the fence then and not vote

OK such as Hotpoint I take it?http://www.itv.com/news/2016-02-12/plan-for-automatic-recalls-after-tumble-dryer-fires/
I've got a 10 year Il White Knight, still works perfect.
Just to a quick search on this site to see real tumble dryer deals.
The bosch in the deal is heat pump meaning it will use over less than half the energy to dry a load than your 10 year old one. Meaning in 4-5 years the machine has paid for itself.
I will be getting a heat pump dryer shortly to replace my 15 year old Condenser Zanussi which takes longer and longer to dry with each load.
This also stops when it is dry saving even more energy over your timed machine.
But if you think yours is a better 'deal' then go ahead :D

Finally someone with some reasoned debate!!!

Thank you for your enquiry.

In order to apply a price reduction on a purchase, the criteria in our pricing policy must be met. I regret that after review the request you have submitted does not match all or parts of this policy.

To match a price request, the competitor must trade on the same basis as us. This means we compare how we sell the product to how it is sold by the competitor to ensure it's comparable. We particularly look at stock availability, delivery charges and fitting/installation services.

Unfortunately, as BHS Direct’s prices are only available via a third party who are an online only retailer (Buy it Direct) and independent to prices available from BHS stores we are unable to price match them as a comparable competitor.

Nor are Appliances Direct considered a comparable retailer as their Service Conditions state "if you are not available to receive your goods, there will be a redelivery charge. Unsuccessful deliveries will be charged the return delivery fee to our warehouse." The return delivery fee is £49. As John Lewis offers free redelivery, the service conditions are not the same.

Therefore, on this occasion I regret that I cannot match the price offered by BHS Direct and Appliances Direct. If you would like to view more information about Never Knowingly Undersold and our pricing you can do so on our website.

I am sorry I have not been able to reduce the price on this occasion. If you require any further information or assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Ranall

Just be aware that if you plan to expand storage with a Nifty or the like that it reduces battery life as the Mac won't go into deep sleep mode with an SDCard inserted....
Personally I'd buy the 256Gb in the first place (especially if you plan to run any Virtual Machines)...and I'd also buy it from the Apple Higher Education store via a friendly student (everyone must know a student)
Then you'll get around 15% off Apple retail price and 3yrs Applecare hardware warranty thrown in.
cam130301
They no longer offer free apple care for students, however it is reduced at £48.
Over the last few Apple threads I have seen conflicting info on this...some say 3 year warranty, some say the £48 is for extra 2 years phone support - I looked on Apple and couldnt see a definitive answer....anyone confirm 100%
The HE store gives 3 years hardware & software warranty (like the warranty offered by applecare) but only 1 years phone support and uplift (covering carriage charges and so on if you need a repair) which you can upgrade to 3 years (which is then the full applecare package) for £48 (£60 mbp 15)
That's what I am hoping (just ordered via HE) but cant find it written down anywhere...indeed I looked further after posting and all I coukd find was US HE store which seemed to suggest only 1 year.
Not doubting you but is your info upto date? Thanks alot

When i bought my MBPr from the Apple HES just a few months back I got a separate email around a week later confirming the free warranty extension and then around another week after this (so about 2weeks after initial order) when checking warranty status from the Macbook service details option the online page had updated to the 3yr cover.

Yes, you definitely get 3 years warranty from the HE store. The confusion comes from the fact you can buy applecare from the HE store - this only gives you an extra 2 years phone support.

I have confirmed that today with Apple chat (there is a link to chat from your apple store basket) so I'm confident it's up to date.

I would also add if you do use a nifty drive or similar, there is freely available software to dismount the drive on sleep and remount it on wake - I've not tried it but thought I'd mention it.

Hi guys, wondering if someone can give me some options and explain to me what the best monitor would be for pairing with a MacBook Pro Retina? Obviously the quality of the Retina Display is amazing so I'm looking for a monitor to be very close to it in terms of this. Apple Cinema Display is not an option unfortunately as it is very expensive and I don't even know if it is that good.
The main things I'm using it for are browsing and coding, perhaps a movie every now and then. No gaming on the MBP but it would be a good extra to have as I do have a PS3. Looking for at least 27".
Also, considering my needs, would 4K monitors be a good option?
Thanks!

How about this benq 32" 4k monitor?

Sounds like a faulty handset, battery life on my one of these is decent but now with 6.0 and Doze the standby time is fantastic! only drop 2 or 3 % overnight.
I have this phone and wouldn't recommend it. Had to return it because of faulty battery killing it and it seems quite a common fault.

Camera isn't too great, I thought I liked phablets but do find this a bit big. Super HD screen is a bit unnecessary and kills battery. It's alright but I do regret not waiting a bit longer and getting a 5x or a Xperia 5c.
Heat from me. Good price and would but from bhs. I probably wouldn't buy from expanseys.
Yup...looks like Expansys is being used by a growing number of retailers who want to sell phones.
Description same as rakuten.co.uk / expansys.com.... Probably same seller!

I always get refurbished Toshiba laptops from Argos' ebay shop.
The first that I got I stopped using after 4 years (still works but slow now), my second (my current) is over two years old and works fine.
Also got a more expensive one with windows 8 for brother which works fine too.
Both my laptops were between £220 and £240, I use(d) them full on for work (office applications, image editors), a little video editing and a first person shooter (Crossfire) so in my opinion this laptop would probably be more suitable for one who has higher gaming spec needs or does more video editing.
For the laptop that's become slow, replace the HDD with an SSD (very simple swap). It'll make a world of difference, trust me on that!
Yh, true. But I can't be bothered with the hassle of migrating OS as well as data :(

There's plenty of free software out there (Samsung SSD's come with their own very good software) that'll do it all for you. Hassle-free, if you're willing to spend a few minutes. It's totally worth it!

is the r5 255 better or worse than Intel hd 4600?

A little bit of google goes a long way.

"The performance of the Radeon R5 M255 is similar to the HD 8500M series, e.g. the HD 8570M. Due to a slightly higher core clock, the M255 beats the R5 M230. Overall, the GPU performs a bit better than a GeForce 820M and beats Intels HD Graphics 4600. Current and demanding games of 2014 will run fluently only in low resolutions and detail settings."

From notebook check.

Not much point without hdmi2.0, no way to get 4k content into it.

Not knocking Cello here but just to confirm what was touched on above, the Cello site is basically a screwdriver factory - they just assemble generic parts sourced from China. I've seen the insides of a couple of recent examples and all the boards inside, including the lcd panel were made in China - i'm not sure on the plastic moldings (case) - think they might be UK made.

That said, their stuff isn't that bad.

it doesn't have a network port so i think you would need to add chromestick or firetv for something similar to get smart tv like capabilities
its hdmi 1.4. checked the reviews on ebuyer and one of the staff confirmed hdmi 1.4

Cheaper at Amazon
buying from overseas is all well and good, until you get stung with customs and warranty issues.

it's the "s" which is a crappy version.. better get g2 :)
Better get Galaxy S6! I'm a well aware that it's an 'S'. I am posting this for people who are looking for this particular phone. If you can find me a G3 or a G2 for £149 we might start a conversation.

G2 for £182.

No idea who would want a G3S after researching it, face it mate it isn't a good deal!

Oh and before anyone says eglobal are dodgy and rubbish I got a pair of UE Megabooms from them last week and couldn't fault the service, 4 days from Hong Kong to UK, fully tracked via DHL and I saved £200 on the UK price on the pair and I'm not the only user on here who was delighted with their service either.
