Bialetti's Mukka Express, the market's first stove-top cappuccino maker, has taken on a whole new look for 2006! Following last year's successful launch of the original and fun, black and white cow print design, Bialetti has opted for sophistication with the introduction of polished aluminium and polished and black aluminium versions.Italian-based manufacturer Bialetti has been producing stove-top espresso pots since the 1930s and is the name behind the traditional stove-top style of pot, the Moka Express. The Mukka Express is the company's latest innovation and combines this traditional style of coffee maker with a larger size pot for holding the milk.
The Mukka Express works by allowing the steam pressure from creating the coffee to pass through the milk, resulting in froth.
So simple to use for a great cappuccino:
Place water in the bottom section to the level indicated
Fill the filter basket with ground coffee and twist on the upper section
Add milk to the level indicated
Close the lid, push down the pressure button which will create the steam
Place on the stove, bring to the boil & leave for about a minute after the button has popped up.For a caffè latte, leave the button in the up position so as not to produce froth.
Looking for the perfect cappuccino&
The Italians are world experts on coffee and Bialetti undertook extensive research for the Mukka Express. Coffee bars the length and breadth of Italy were visited by its new product development team and samples of cappuccino were analysed to test the optimum strength, flavour, temperature, foam depth and consistency all to ensure that the Mukka Express would produce that perfect cup of Italian cappuccino! The fabulous Mukka Express is a patented design and available exclusively in the UK from hot drinks experts La Cafetière.

Words cannot express how fiddly, messy, annoying and complicated it is to use one of these. I had the original in the 'cow' paintwork and got it to make a half decent cappucino once out of twenty times. Ended up going back to my good old battered Bialetti espresso, which I can use in my sleep ( and frequently do, first thing in the morning).

Like noghar I also got the cow design one. It's a really funky cappuccino maker and when folk walk into the kitchen it's the first thing they comment on. For the love of God though I cant even figure the damn thing out. Got it as a present for xmas (didnt realise how expensive it was - £45 at the time) and have read the instructions twice.

For now the Nescafe Cappuccino sachets do their job... Might try and make an effort using it again tomorrow.

Just followed the link to the Amazon site and it is now showing at £39.69 from 'goshopdirect', so that means no free delivery.

The price from Amazon themselves appears to be £49.98 ... or have I missed something, somewhere?

Here's the cow one for £36.97 delivered (by Amazon themselves)

That's moo..velous!

But even better is the 'silver edition' or polished aluminium one at just £26.98 from Amazon, with free delivery.

You can find it at http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000A8C0XW

Very nice price! Personally I think the moo-moo one looks leagues better, but the aluminium one might suit your kitchen if your other appliances have a similar look, otherwise the cow one really does ass a touch of class/humour to the kitchen :P

Not quite sure why this is now shown as expired as the all aluminium model is still available from Amazon at the lower price of £26.98... see my Post No. 7 above for direct link.
