Following the Scots indie-rockers' move to major label Warner in 2007, their former label Beggars Banquet presents this compilation of all the singles released from the three albums the band recorded for them, 'Blackened Sky', 'The Vertigo Of Bliss' and 'Infinity Land'. Uniting mind-bogglingly technical instrumental work with amazingly melodic pop structures, this collection presents a true picture of the twisted genius - arguably diluted by their major label move - of one of the UK's very best bands.

I can only imagine how weird this would sound, the first 3 albums are very very different.

It is a good price for a singles collection, but I would so so advise on just buying Blackened Sky and Vertigo of Bliss seperately

Great price, but I'm guessing they're the single edits, which suckkkk. But, for the price, great deal.

2001-2005 - just the beggars banquet (or good as some will say) era of biffy

This was released by Biffy's old record label, so they don't get anything out of it.... good price though.

Although, I would agree that it'd probably be worth buying Vertigo of Bliss, Blackend Sky and Infinity land seperately. Awesome albums. : )

technically they got a lot out of it, as from what I remember (I may be wrong) they had 1 album left on beggars and left it early to go to the new label so that beggars could release this....

ah right, I hadn't realised that. As I understood it, when they became mainstream beggers released this to milk as much as they could out of the band.

That seems much more reasonable now....

If you like Biffy lots, I'd recommend 'Like a Virgin Loosing a Child' by The Manchester Orchestra.

Tis dead good!

Blackened Sky is still the best Biffy album IMO.

If you don't know any of the old stuff, I suggest you get blackened sky! justboy, 57, kill the old = all amazing songs.

of course if you are curious about biffy - buy this, it'll be great, however it doesn't include the more radio friendly stuff they have done recently

Nah, Biffy were under a four album contract with Beggar's Banquet, but they decided to break it to go to 14th Floor (Warner) as they'd actually promote their album. Beggar's used their contract and released this under it - it's not so much without the bands permission as it is them exercising something the band had already agreed to, four album releases.
