9kg , 1400 rpm spin, A+++ £229

6th Sense tech for a better wash. The WWDC9440 has intelligent sensors that measure the size of each load of washing, and adjusts the resources accordingly to make sure you get the best results possible. In fact, it can save you up to 50% in energy, water and time! An A+++ rating for energy efficiency means it’ll be nice and cheap to run, and the 9kg drum will hold 45 adult t-shirts in one go, so it’s great for a family. The 1400rpm spin speed will rid your clothes of excess water so they dry quickly and there are plenty of cycles to choose from too. This includes the colours 15, which washes your coloured clothes at 15°C to preserve the colours and gets you the same results as a 40°C cycle

went for a whirlpool, one we had before luckily lasted 10 years, then we switched to hotpoint, worst decision, broken down 3 times in 2 years, then when I saw the ad on tv last night just couldn't resist going back to Whirlpool at this price

this or this with 5 year warranty, can't decide.

this one is also good price but its only 7kg and 1200 rpm, good for smaller households

Hot price for an intelligent washing machine!

If you're paying £230 for a washing machine then I'd get the longest warranty possible. They're not built like they used to be, but how else do you expect prices to be kept so low - The compromise is usually cheaper internal parts.

This is still a good deal for the specs on offer, just don't expect it to last 10 years unless you use it sparingly.

Depends whether the 7kg capacity and 1200 spin of the Panasonic is adequate enough for your needs.

Whirlpool / Hotpoint / Indesit are all the same company.

Whirlpool, Indesit and Hotpoint are all the same company nowadays (Whirlpool) and share manufacturing facilities in Italy and other countries. Washing machine reliability has reduced with prices so unfair to compare a 10 year old model from one brand with a modern model from another.

According to Which consumer survey's the most reliability models are Miele, Bosch, Siemens, Beko. Beko are by far the most reliable brand at value pricing. Bosch washing machines at entry level pricing are often quite poor so presumably their mid range and high level models are all the more reliable to make up their high rating.

Seems like a good washing machine so far. Clothes come out with minimal water in them so drying times reduced. We purchased 11 days ago from ao.com at £50 more. :(

Seems a lot of machine for the money. Personally wouldn't buy a Whirlpool again given how unreliable ours has been - in 4 years it's had 2 motherboards, drum, stabilizing legs and heating element. Currently the front tray is leaking and cycle is unreliable. Probably just unlucktheme got a Friday lemon. Been replaced by a Samsung from the other deal thread.

I have the 8kg version of this machine and it's the worse washing machine I've ever had.
I've called an engineer out 3 times in the 9 months I've had it.
The £150 beko I had before it was much better.

I'd give them a call, not able to look at the moment but I remember they have some policy where you can return goods within 14 days no questions asked, they'll probably refund you £50

So many different experiences , think it's the luck of the draw, my experience has been the opposite

I've tried ao.com but no refund on price, that's within 7 days and I ordered 11 days ago. I could order another one and return on the original receipt but they said they have recorded my phone call now and I suppose have the serial numbers to prove I'm not returning the same one.
Second frustration I've had with ao.com as the Samsung fridge freezer I had broke with about 8 weeks of use and the engineer said compressor had gone, most likely due to incorrect temperature storage of item.

If you could design a 9kg washing machine to fit in a suitcase alone you should be on Dragons Den :)

Remember its only A+++ efficient if you do full loads. If you keep half filling it, it becomes very inefficient as you are having to rotate a larger drum with a more powerful motor. This would be a washing machine for a larger family typically.

Would never buy from ao.com again. Awful customer service!

I got the 6kg version of this for £199.99 back in April. Great machine and free delivery from ao.com was made within one day, Carried to where I wanted to install it and took away old machine for free.

Same one at boots £209 £14.99 delivery but they take your old one, fit the new one (not a hard job like) and possibly have better customer service.

Looks like Boots want 19.99 for standard delivery then another £19.99 to connect the appliance and £9.99 to take away the old one. Quite pricey considering the likes of Currys will do all of the above for £20 including delivery.

Not sure which deal to go for - seem to be a lot of conflicting opinions out there about brands and warranties etc...

AFAIK AO run the Boots Appliances website, so you will essentially be buying from the same company.

phone up the local scrap metal merchant, that's what I did, they took my old machine away for nothing

Thanks for this op, ordered. Our Hoover washing machine has been knackered for a long time but we've found ways round it's gtliches to get it working. But it's now had enough after 6 years and completely stopped working.

So will be ordering this today. But can't decide from where...

Any recommendations? AO.com? Boots? Next?
