Is this a good deal at £366 anyone? Im thinking of ordering and then if the comments say no, il cancel order.
#7
After thinking about it, I decided against it. Sure something will come up after Christmas.
#8
Yes surely the prices gone up about 150 for same system I looked this morning.
Sorry have to vote cold for this reason.
#9
That applies to new Core 2 Duo machines. Cheaper machines might be ok.
#10
Sorry, but definitely COLD. I have often looked at Dell Outlet and been disappointed by their prices of effectively second hand machines ("returned" machines - they are returned because they were not working) when compared to Dell's new prices, particularly when they have good deals (most weeks, it seems). To raise prices at the Outlet by up to £150 (see above post) and then knock £100 off seems a cynical marketing exercise for those mug enough to buy. My preference is to buy new - from Dell - I save money and get better specs usually.

Scumbag marketing.

I agree that buying new from Dell is the best option and I suspect that the crunch will pop up some good deals in that last week of Xmas and afterwards.

That's simply not true mate. The outlet is for previously sold or built to order machines that have been returned by suppliers (in the case of the Studio Hybrid deal early this week) or the orders were cancelled.

I imagine a few machines that were returned because they arrived faulty and then re-built are also included ..... but rebuilding it makes it a new machine again!

Shame this deal wasn't around for the Hybrids!!!

Hot.

Chris
#13
They were as cheap as £314 for a inspiron machine, now 390
#14
agree with post above was 314 with 50 discount ,not sure why hot
#15
I look at Dell outlet sort of every 2-3 days and the prices are increased.
#16
Cold. I have been watching the outlet for months and last week I brought two Studio 1537 laptops (only meant to buy one but there was a mix up at their office). Just checked and the same laptop would cost over £100 more!

I might try phoning up and saying I will return my laptops if they don't increase the money off... Could work (but probably not).
#17
prices have risen

outlet prices were about £100 cheaper this time last month

give with one hand, take with the other
#18
I got a Vostro 200 for £153 delivered so there are some good deals - 2GHz dual core, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, DVD-burner, one year on-site warranty.

Prices have gone up by more than £45 per machine compared with the £55 off offer .....they are switching the marketing campaign to haul in the section of punters : "Ooooooooo.. it is £100 off , I got a better deal than your £55 off ... na na ...nana"
#21
I was going to order a system today until I realised that the prices had been increased...it would be nice to come across a company that treats its customers/potential customers with an honest marketing campaign,
#22
Hi - I posted link to complain to the ASA - seems to have been bounced by admin?
#23
Managed to get a Hybrid for £250 about 10 seconds after it went on.

They had a XPS 420 for £243.20, but thats gone now. Prices have def gone up. About 80 new lappys were added as i was looking and not one was priced below £270.
#24
Looks like it'll be cheaper to wait for the £55 off, offer to start again !! Weird. . .
#25
put it this way in september i picked up a top spec xps m1330 for £460 on dell outlet considering it was £720 new at that time the system was like brand new so no complaints there and now a few months later the same system works out £550 on their website shouldnt it be goin cheaper rather than more expensive.

I meant it works out £550 with the discount id rather pay £460
#29
It may be due to the $ to £ exchange rate having worked it way through the production system. The £ has depreciated against the $ by about 30% since Sept/October. Not long ago it was 2$ to £1. Now it is about $1.45 to £1.

Of course. But not as good as new machines and often far more expensive with poorer (older) specs. Has to be icy cold.

Cold. Don't like dell anyway, but increasing the money off while also increasing prices just seems like a cynical marketing ploy to me.
