From the creators of Father Ted, this rather surreal sketch show features the recurring themes of jockeys, surgery and offices. There's a man with a spoon phobia, some show-jumpers in Hunting Pink who yearn to be firemen, and the first-series' animated Stare-Out with BBC Sport's own Barry Davies commentating. The second series features a foul-mouthed mermaid and a look at the life of a Beefeater. Jump aboard the lunatic subversion of the Big Train.

345 minutes OF CRAZYNESS!

Worth it for the Tyrant at Home sketch.
#3
The last decent sketch show.

Have some heat
#4
Just ordered. The show-jumpers didn't get there first.

Top series. What happened to this kind of show? We always used to have at least one series like this on the go but I can't think of the last decent multi cast sketch show on TV.
#7

Seeing Ming The Merciless doing the hoovering is worth the £5 alone!
#12
Best comedy show ever imo. Peter serafinowicz show comes in second.
#13
Brilliant show. Always loved the giant dog!!
#14
On par with Smack the Pony imo. Following the same spirit of the mighty Monty Python.
#15
Chairman Mau doing a spot on Roxy on TOTP performance of Virginia Plain, Keith Emerson and his medieval keyboards, wking in the office, Prince hunting jockeys in the Serengeti, the day Chaka Khan took out all three Bee Gees in the wild west...etc

Genius and then some.

No, I agree. Very hit and miss and to be honest, when you've heard the description you've seen the sketch - eg the "staring competition sketch" is exactly that, two men staring at each other. .

A classic sketch show, worth it for the re-interpretation of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds alone :)

Great writers, great performers but for some reason i just didn't find this particularly funny. I might take a punt on it at this price though, see if i can get into it as others rate it so highly.

Oh that's a bit unfair. You could describe Monty Python's parrot sketch as, one man takes back a sick parrot. Doesn't really do it justice, does it?

Personally I always looked forward to the staring competition sketches; Barry Davies' deadpan delivery is spot on - maybe you need to be a sport fan to get the majority of cliches/references.

Probably for the same reason, my other abiding memory of this show was Chris Morris and his Attenborough-style nature doctumentary... featuring Prince. X)

I loved this show. Truly surreal and off the wall, but consistently funny with it.

Definitely have some heat....!

Kevin Eldon is funny without even opening his mouth, truly brilliant comedy actor
