Full size BigTrak for £20!

Back for 2010, Bigtrak! You might remember having one of these in the early 80's. Retro and cool, it's brand new for 2010.
This programmable educational toy is a six-wheeled tank with a front mounted blue photon beam headlamp used for firing. The centre wheels are driven by two motors to allow change of direction.
Use the 23-button keypad to enter instructions for Bigtrak. Where do I want Bigtrak to go? In what direction? How many units will it take to reach my goal? When do I want Bigtrak to fire? Do I want Bigtrak to return to me along a different course? With a 16 command memory, Bigtrak will execute 16 commands in one sequence, e.g. 'go forward 5 lengths', 'pause', 'turn 30 degrees right', 'fire phaser' and so on.
There is a 'repeat' instruction allowing simple loops.
Requires 3 x D batteries (not included)
For 8+ years

Have seen BigTrak posted a few times in recent months/years, and I don't get it.
I wanted one in the 80s, but isn't this pretty much the exact same toy it was then? Was good for it's time, but surely it should've improved since then.

I guess it's supposed to be naff, but I don't fancy forking out twenty quid myself just to be ironic and end up with yet another piece of novelty crap taking up storage space... :\

Haven't voted either way, as there's a good chance I'm missing something - and I've no idea if this is a good price for the product for those that actually want one.

Rubbish then, rubbish now. Good price for toy which will amuse for five minutes, then clutter the house until you get around to taking it to the tip.

Played with a friends Big Trak when i was a kid and loved it. Got suckered into buying one for myself the other year and as people have said, liked it for a good 15 minutes then got incredibly bored and packed it away again.

Finally gave it away to a special Needs School so they could use it in Physics/Robotics classes.

Don't buy one, they're not as good as you remember they were
