Found this earlier having searched Ebay and cycle stockists etc

Ceiling/shed (if your roof beams are strong enough)/garage storage lift for bikes £6.00

A couple of days ago watched a used one go for £8.50approx + £2.95 delivery

Yes I know it's Maplin an electronics store but they do a small range of cycling/car bits

don't forget 2.5% quidco (although that's just 15p)

Do they lift Genuine Bikes or do they only lift Bike Shaped Objects (BSOs).

Because I for one am sick of BSO lifts masquerading as Genuine Bicycle lifts.

You get what you pay for.

P.S. Is the material aluminium or are you just paying a premium for carbon?

Do you think they could be used to lift a roof box?

There are hooks on each set that attach to saddle and handlebars with a weight restriction of 20kgs

I would suggest giving them a try and if not return or sell on ebay

I'm using a set of these to store my windsurfing board/gear... changed the rope though as it is a bit too weedy for that

I bought these last time round. Depending on the design of your saddle, the saddle hook may not sit securely. Other than that, they work fine.

Once the bike is hanging from one of these, can you easily lift the bike away from the hooks, or do you need to lower it down to the floor first?

You can lift, but is easier to lower to the floor, I have got two bikes hanging from these for the past 3 years with no problems to date, expected cord to fail but still looks good as new and have used for lifting over 50 times now at a guess.

ordered two. Thanks op. Only issue is my garage roof is made from asbestos. lol

At £6 will give it a go and see if I can mount it on our garage roof beams - its an apex roof so will have to experiment, but the wife will be happy to see my bike out of the laundry room, means she will have more room for doing washing LOL.
Cheers OP, reserved one in Bristol for pick up on the way home

A few places do them - I know we don't do time travel here, but Lidl and/or Aldi do then every so item. £4.99 last time I saw them, I think. However, if this is the best price now, then have some heat.

I have a large roofbox suspended from my garage ceiling using these. Had to make up to straps to connect to the box itself but they're more than strong enough.

Was just searching for alternatives to storage then hit on the ebay item (which was secondhand) @ £8.50 + postage and remembered somewhere I'd seen it online @ £6 so started trawling again at the usual sites and for the life of me couldn't find where I'd seen it @ £6

You are paying £6, would you like a bike with it as well for that price?. I find it pretty amazing that anyone can expect a top class item for £6

Same here... but I don't have a garage so I should never have bought it and the missus want keen on my idea of using it in the hallway/stairwell.
