Binatone 3.5" UK & Irfeland Sat Nav.

Just £34.99. There are also European mapping versions available for £39.99 and larger screened vesions (B430) for £49.99.

I got one of these whilst they were previously on sale and its great.

There's a previous expired thread here but they are back on sale today.

They run Win CE5, so if you own another Sat Nav software already, you can probably run it on the Binatone device as well.

These are "Grade A" which means they are previous returns that have been completely checked over and are in "perfect, unmarked" condition.

Maplins are selling brand new ones for £69.99. They are also selling grade B ones (with cosmetic marks) for more than these grade A perfect ones....

This shouldn't get cold. Good sat nav if you know how to get TomTom onto it. Runs also perfect with iGO8 and other navigators (Navigon, NDrive and more)

got one on the tesco deal not got tom tom running yet though how do you get it running on this as i noticed it runs its sofware on its internal memory not on sd card . Do you install it on internal memory ? had binatone software deleted and reinstalled ok so got backup win CE so should run it?

Don't touch the internal memory (ROM) of the sat nav!

You should only ever run things from an external sd card!

this model is very poor. I lost my self twice for 2 hours in the city because of this poor satnav

This is exactly the point.
If you are looking for a straight-no-messing-about-with-it Sat Nav. Then the navigation software that it comes with is of paramount importance, and in my opinion I would steer clear of this. I would guess that you would have got lost because the mapping on the navigation software was poor.

However, as pointed out by the OP, this device runs the Win CE operating system. In which case you can, usually with a bit of fiddling about (in my case about 15 mins worth), run various navigation software.

In my experience I have found Navigon to have much better mapping than Tomtom.

I vote this HOT!

this model is very poor. I lost my self twice for 2 hours in the city because of this poor satnav

but you should never rely 100% on a satnav they are driving aids no more.....anyone who relys 100% on a satnav is dumb
#17
Binatone...you get what you pay for, save and get a decent Garmin or Tom Tom
#18

Says grade a in the title

Good for a starter sat nav, take your chance on it working it is under garantee for at least 3month, its as cheap as your going to get and runs Tom Tom 7 no problems.

I have the b430 which is the widescreen version running ttt7 no problems, it will run others but for me and most peeps tom tom is the easiest to use and install and the best?

£35 GOOD DEAL although the widescreen looks better :-D

Big boys post with all the links is good but not for the faint hearted as it takes some IT knowledge and messing about, follow this guide to install TomTom7 on it and it will be a lot easier:

http://www.simplesatnav.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=4372.0

Small tip if running the muppet keygen on win7 or vista, right click on mouse and run as administrator, alternatively use an xp machine and have no errors :)

this looks a lot like the RAC200 sat navs, theyre ok but a bit tempremental, i would put on igo8 software onto it, a lot better then tomtom, which may not work so good. As i recall, i kept loosing sat signal with tomtom installed...

 dont forget Quidco 6%

That last part of of your post is something I'll need to test out tonight - can't get TT7 running at all on my B340

TT6 runs perfectly but I have to say TT6 is pretty crap looking compared to the Igo software that I have on my Mio GPS.

Might have a go at putting on Igo8 to see how that runs but I'd like the option of post code searches.

On my way back from the airport last night the TT6 software suggested an alternative route to get home (heading the opposite way) so I'm not particularly impressed so far - oh and I don't seem to get audible warnings for traffic cams etc either?

Got my self one of these and stuck TT7 on it with latest UK maps.
Seems great so far, haven't actually used it for directions (will do at the weekend) but it seemed to grab signal quick enough and routed out a 70 mile route pretty quick!
What more can you want for £35...
I've stuck an 8GB card in it which is overkill I know but smallest I had kicking around...at least it proves it's SDHC! Could stick the entire World's maps on a card that size!!
Thanks to the OP

thanks for posting. i was looking for a cheapo sat nav.

i'll bet it works fine.
#32
voted cold, got one and it's crap, took it back.!
#33
The simple sat nav webiste are now charging to download the Tom Tom 7 files and maps, does anybody know where else I can download these for free, along with a guide to installing either tom tom 7 or igo 8? Thanks
#34
Apparently, once the batteries go,all TT software has to be re-installed from scratch?
I couldn`t get the muppetproof keygen to work with Vista.
Used the other one and all was fine
£5 to download the TT7 software.
Cheap
