Take it from me, if the satnav has no sd card slot, it is very difficult to install anything else but what;s on. IMO, a card slot is a must if you want to run TomTom, etc.

The 350 doesn't have a slot listed. The 4.3" for £50 has a slot.

Unless you will be happy with Route 66 (which is on this B350), and don't want any map updates, go for some other.

Looks like it must have a card slot with this feature below.

description on the site states it has a sd card slot

OK then. I looked and the table where it says NO. If it has a card slot then that's better, just make sure.

3D Mapping Yes
Ability To Add Additional Maps No
Accepts Data Cards No

From what I remember, the B350 runs Windows CE 4.2. A satnav with Windows CE 5 would be better for installing additional programs (there is more choice)

Thanks OP, good spot

I would avoid this after seeing the amazon reviews (1/5 from 3 reviews all saying it takes 20 minutes to get a signal!). Spend £2 more and get the asda myguide 3218

The reviews relate to the software so if you use TomTom then you should be okay.

I have just picked one up, I have only had a few seconds to look at it but there is what looks like a card slot on it. I will have a proper look tonight see what its like.

I had a look at one earlier but did not buy and I can confirm that it does indeed have an SD card slot.

BUT WOULD THE SOFTWARE correct the hardware problem wherein it takes 20 minutes to find a signal?
#17

Obviously not but does it actually take 20 minutes to find a signal... give me a bit of time to have a play and I will let you know.

Plus your cost for a legitimate copy of TomTom.
#23
Amazingly easy to hack and put tomtom on. Finds signal in seconds.
#24
only buy if you can change software, this unit is totally useless! ages to get signal, and crashes if it has to recalculate!!

all 3 amazon reviews state it takes 20 minutes and they ALL returned them for a refund, hence why I posted the link!

I know I read them, the comments also said the software was rubbish hence my post.

All reviews DO NOT state 20 minutes, one says 20 minutes one says forever the other says 5 minutes to recalculate a route.

As I have said I will try it tonight and report back.

I own this, with tomtom on. Takes a few seconds to find satellites after the the first time you use (then its about 5 mins) and then always finds you seconds after switch on.

I'd switch from my tomtom, which doesn't seem to be able to search on a full postcode, as it used to do.

Can you navigate from a postcode alone with these? Thanks ;)
#29
Not the best but cant argue with the price... HOT :)

Looks good for price ,thanks for posting .heat added.

Yeah, but it'll probably bring up the wrong destination, that's what happened when I tried a simple local post code.

There is a fix for the "not using the full postcode" problem - google it or look on the TomTom site for a download. I helped a friend fix theirs with the same issue.
