I know this deal has been posted before, but the price has dropped and the old link doesn't work. These refurbs have been £39ish at a few places but seem to be in and out of stock quite often. They're currently back in stock at Maplin, they come up as £39.99, but use the secret3 voucher to get £3 off. That makes it £36.99 delivered. Either use the in-built software or buy yourself an SD card and load it up with an alternative.

This is terrible. The software is rubbish as is the interface. We used it twice once in spain where it tried to take us through a mountain and once in scotland where it actually took us off the motorway we were supposed to be on to go to separate retail parks. I am sure this is a good price but as the item is a complete load of tat I am going to have to give the is a big fat COLD

What's bad is the software the Binatone comes with.

Just use iGO8, which is one of the best sat nav software available at the moment (only surpassed by the new iGO PRIMO, which will be available with UK voices soon). This is a hot price for someone with some knowledge.

Hi, where can you acquire the software and how much does it cost?
Thanks in advance.

They're actually really neat units. Mine was in mint condition, except for the mounting bracket, which had a light scratch. It came 24 hours after delivery, out of the box it has no-frills SatNav software with speed camera data, POIs and 7-digit postcode search. Satellite reception appears great and if you really don't like the in-built software you can shove in an SD card with alternative software (my v3 supports my 4GB SDHC, which wasn't documented). My only criticism is that the speaker on the back distorts the auudio a bit when turned to the absolute maximum (fine at 90% though), but there's a speaker jack on the side if you wanted to plumb it into some external speakers or headset. At £37, you really can't complain.

Oh well, maybe you can complain after all. My 4-day-old refurb has just died on me. The system locked up on me, I tried resetting it but now only get a "recover the hive partition" message. Looks like I'll be returning it to my local store for a refund.
