These are rubbish, you'll be hard pressed to find 1 x professional fish keeper that would have one of these or recommend them... Over priced fish bowl and still not ideal for fish.

Not a great aquarium, as mentioned, but if this one is right for you it is a great price - And that's the point of posting the deals right?! Heat op :)

Most people aren't professional fish keepers, so these serve a purpose as long as you adhere to the amount of litres/amount of fish rules, so hot from me for the price, cheapest I've ever seen this model.

Correct, most people are not professional fish keepers, so when we advise and people don't listen... You'll end up spending over £100 on a fish bowl that Is not ideal for fish...... Probably 3 Mountain Minnows or a few Shrimps.......
You can get a £10 fish tank from B+M - just add a light - £10 and still be able to keep a few tiny fish or shrimps and I still wouldn't recommend that but it would save over £80......

Guaranteed to kill your fish with a few weeks.

Some pretty stupid comments on here!

I would agree that these tanks arent suitable for most fish purely because they arent big enough. They are however fine for minnows or fish of similar size.

I have this tank and its far better quality than most tanks of similar size. Its also far more attractive looking than a cheap looking tank from B+M!

Looks like a good price op.

I'd love to try something like this, just for a few fish. How much looking after (for fish welfare) is involved?

I didn't know there were a lot of Fish experts in here...

1. A fish bowl doesn't have a filter... this does. Therefore already better.
2. Built in Lighting system, good if you want to keep some low light plants - which adds to filtration by removing the CO2 and Ammonia and producing O2.
3. Bubbles... creates additional surface movement which is also beneficial

I wouldn't keep a goldfish in this, but it's a nice tank if you are looking at keeping a single Siamese Fighter and Cherry Shrimp. Other than that you probably couldn't keep a lot in this without doing harm to the fish.

what are you banging on about?

if you saw a deal for a Fiesta would you come on and say Lewis Hamilton wouldn't be seen dead in that?

right now we have a tiny 15 litre pirate themed tank with no filter or light, my son was bought it for his birthday. So are you saying this is a downgrade? we only have a small space to put a tank so this looks great.

Obviously you do not know what being a fish keeper means... nor value for money... and it's the comments like the above as to why people like myself have to rescue many idiots and their remaining dying fish......

Quick search - http://www.swelluk.com/juwel-rekord-700-aquarium/?gclid=CL2Gp5j63dMCFam87QoderEK1A - suitable for tropical and coldwater fish, much better filter - better water quality - better for the fish.... I'd suggest the people above join an aquatic society and learn something about fish keeping rather than thinking the welfare of fish is something "pretty stupid" and don't forget this is a bargain hunters site and that fish bowl is a rip off and a known graveyard for fish...... but what do I know.... 40 years later.................

the one you've linked too is twice the size we can have in our home, the biorb is tall and thin and just fits on the small table we have. it also looks like crap. I take great pride in my home and want something stylish and that looks the part. the biorb has great reviews and will be perfect for a few fish for my kids. I will not be joining any fish keeping keeping forums or clubs etc as I really don't care that much. I just want a bigger and nicer looking tank over the one we have and I've wanted one of these for a few years, so at this price why not.

call me ignorant or whatever I don't care, I'm glad you got to have your little rant anyway, hope you feel better about it.

put simply, this is a deal site and this is a great deal.

If you cannot accommodate the requirements for pets then don't bother - simples.

Hey, I have a small lawn, I'll get a horse! Oh a little pony then? Think twice before becoming a pet owner, if unsure ask real time served people, not pet shops or know it alls.

These are great. Ignore the haters.

"Professional fish keepers?" Is that even a job? The consensus is that these do not provide an ideal environment for anything but the smallest fish. I am no professional, I can read and I have google.
