This is possibly the hottest game to hit the Xbox360 all year, and massively anticipated all over the place. Eary reviews have been very positive and the game is the spiritual successor (i.e. made by all the same people) to the classic PC game System Shock. Playable demo for the 360 version released this morning if anyone needs convincing, PC owners will have to wait.

This is the only UK preorder I've found so far for the Limited Edition of the game, which includes a 6" figurine of one of the enemies from the game (the Big Daddy), a soundtrack CD, and a Making-Of DVD. After Quidco, it's going to come in at only a few quid more than the standard edition game will be on the high street -- gotta be a bargain!

Here's the extra stuff you get with the collectors edition.
*metal case
*2 bonus discs
*Scaled replica of "Big Daddy"

Not worth the extra £12 imho. :whistling:

Deal link is for the 360 version, PC Limited Edition version is here for £40. You can also get the game in a tin case with no frippery for less dosh on 360 for £40 or PC for £25.

Also, forgot to mention, this is my first deal, go easy :)

Collectors editions only available from Gameplay and Game retailers. I just got the standard version for £30 from Game using £5 off voucher and left over reward points.

Where did you get £12, shimagoza? For the 360, the normal edition is £40 and the limited £50. After 11% Quidco those become £35.60 and £44.50, so the premium for the limited edition is £8.90. I don't think that's too shabby, given that the Limited Editions generally have a little bit more value on the second hand market.

The difference is greater for the PC version, though, because the normal edition is so cheap at £25. But none of my steam driven PCs will touch modern games, sadly.

11 Days Till Release -Order now with FIRST CLASS postage to receive this item on the day of release.
Release date: August 24th 2007 (Friday)

The tin edition is available from choicesuk (Product Number: 826827) for £39.99. But please note this does not appear to include the 2 bonus discs or the scale model.

Dr.G sorry about the £12, shouldve been a little more specific. I was aware that you could get the "normal" edition for £10 - £15 less. Guess it's juts £10 as you stated.

I agree that limited editions do hold more value, but it's probably not going to make a massive difference. It would probably help if we knew how may they are going to produce of these "limited editions".

Still voted hot as it's the best price for this specific package.

Limited Editions generally have a little bit more value on the second hand market.

Is it going to be worth £13 more?

Only reason to get this is if you want the Big Daddy figure.
#11
Well, I was factoring the QuidCo into it, because Gameplay pay 11% which is unusually high; shopto only do 4%. If you don't do quidco or don't want to wait for the cashback, yeah, the shopto deal is very good. I don't think the Limited Edition is worth £13 more.

That Big Daddy figurine will look good next to my 360 though!

Bioshock can be downloaded from the M$ Marketplace.
But watch out as it's a sizeable 1.35GB demo

HTH peeps :P

I want the figurine; and I couldn't find it anywhere in the UK until I discovered this post.

Thank you. Heat added.

The figurine will become a waste of space of space on your desk after a few months don't buy into the hype, its just a man made object that sits there - does nothing and is lifeless.
#15
Thanks for defining a figure.
#16
Voted cold.

You can get the LE (with figure) from GAME for £44.99 with a £5 voucher that was/ is floating around. Add quidco (11%) and GAME points and the LE could potentially cost less than £40.

I must agree, but are sure it's lifeless or is this a conspiracy? :whistling:

5100? Thats too low mate to supply demand.
#21
That's what the developer guy said on the Major Nelson pod cast last week when he was talking about the Big Daddy figurine. Major had meant to ask the significance of the number but forgot.

cba just now but if you want to check its on episode 239 of the podcast.

I'm sure he was talking about the faceplates (us) that were being given out to gamestop employees and the like. There's only 5100 of those, its illogical and "irrational" for 5100 copies of the limited edition to be released. I'm guessing more about 200,000 or even more.
