DiVx is good but Usb 1.1 no

Voted hot - looks good to me even without usb. In any case, I would have though usb 1.1 would be plenty fast enough to offload a 600mb divx film in the 1 to 2 hours it takes to watch the film while streaming.

Why is USB 1 bad on this? It's not a computer!!! and it offers enough speed for streaming music/video

USB 1.1 is fast enough to watch a divx movie on. I can't be bothered to type in the numbers (transfer rate, time, flie size, etc.), so I'm speaking purely from experience.

For about a tenner more (+ postage), this one also has hdmi:

I'm in the market for a new divx player after my last Aldi one packed up. Since they gave a full refund, no questions asked, on something that was well over a year old (thanks to their 3 year guarentee), I'll probably wait for them to get some more in rather than buying either of these.

I beg to differ (due to the experiences Ive had) although it does depend on what youre watching. I have a Philips one with USB 1.1 (5960) and although most stuff is fine I do watch a few programs that have some fast moving scenes where the player cant keep up and will freeze or sound will stutter on and off during the scene then catch up after. Or the picture will freeze and then play back super fast as it catches up. I have tried the same 700Mb movie/ tv program etc on a CD after and it then plays fine. So USB 1.1 is JUST fast enough for most stuff but there are glitches now and then (sometimes VERY noticeable) depending on the show. In hindsight I wish Id looked out for a USB 2 device. However for under £19 I guess you could live with a few glitches here and there. Still, good for the price.

(Ive tested with various memory cards inc fast sandisk ultra ones and get the same results always)

Usb1.1 is not as good as usb2 for transfer speeds etc suppose a 500gb hardrive full ov films would be a struggle but i have 4 gb stick and use that it works perfectly wid all films ive tried without effort.

Also for gods sake what do u want at this price try and get one without usb at this price. Im wid dave dixon.

...."it only does 576p"
#10
The sumvision only upscales to 576p, which is the same as SD resolution (why i don't know). And pixmania have had some very bad customer service reviews (check out avforums.com), so I would proceed with caution.
