Anyone used one of these? Just moved into a house with cream carpets, bah!

Haven't used this particular bissell model but the bissell hoover I bought last year that was posted on here was terrible. It was so bad I gave it to the charity shop after a month as it was rubbish, very noisy, rubbish suction and made the house stink as its design didn't really filter properly.

Hi tek-monkey,
yes, I've had the previous model for a couple of years, they do a great job. Like you I have cream carpets (and two mutts) so the bissell gets regular outings.
The cleaning solution can be expensive except if you look online, though they will take the cheaper 'vax' solutions and still work as well as ever.
at this price it's a super hot deal - well spotted OP!! have some h and r :)

This company are 3rd party and not associated with Bissell. They came about doing offers in the Daily Mail and generally carry models of companies dont want to stock. Tehy do buy in bulk from Bissell on their older models which this is one of them.
#5
LOL just noticed they are still selling the Big Green Clean Machine, that was discontinued about 12-15 years ago.

I have this exact model. Works very well but obviously wont be as good as an industrial cleaner.

TIP:- Mix the cleaning solution in with the hot water rather than putting it in the solution container at the back (just fill that with hot water).

Goes much further and does a better job too!

Thanks a lot all, may have to buy this. We generally hire a rug doctor once a year, but I'd rather be able to do it more regularily. I know this wont be as good as a rug doctor, but I can't afford to hire that every month!

EDIT: Anyone know the warranty on these?

Are you Sure ??

If they are not associated with Bissel why does the main Bissel website automatically send you to the BisselDirect website when you select the 'Buy on line' button on the products page.

They state that it has a 'limited 2 year warranty'.

their returns service is brill. A part snapped on our older model after 18 months. They came & collected it and gave us a brand new one (newer model too).

:? You would never guess that from the two websites. They even quote the same contact address and phone numbers

Yep 100% sure, the Bissell UK site is controlled by the US not the UK,

Its part of the agreement, they have to sell the refurbs which are done be Inox in Birmingham.

http://www.inox-uk.com/about_us.html

With this they are allowed to use the Bissell name and logo. The givaway is the Official Site is run by the US arm Bissell 'Homecare Inc' and the spares links direct to Bissells official UK spares supplied Connect Distribution based in Birmingham who run the 4ourhouse sites and 4Bissell site.

http://www.4bissell.co.uk/cgi-bin/home.pl

The Bissell Direct shop is run by' Bissell Homecare (overseas) Inc' and only has the main consumable spares on it not the complete stock holding.

Cheers for all the info :)

@Kankan1
Thanks for expanding on what you originally wrote. The main plus point from my point of view is that they seem to have a failry strong selling agreement with Bissell so hopfully they are a reliable company to deal with.
#16
Just had mine delivered via DHL. Very quick service :)
May well get used tomorrow after our new years party tonight. 8-)

Yep they are a genuinely reliable company, just tagged to sell their recons through.

Saves Bissell doing it themselves as they would have to sell them on into the open graded market and you get people selling them on Market stalls as new ones and they are not and that would ruin Bissell's reputation.

So did you have to use it?

Not yet. The carpets survived the party quite well .:)
I unboxed the cleaner this morning. Seems quite well made for the price and was very simple to assemble. Might get chance to do the living room carpet tommorrow once christmas decorations come down. If I do I will let you know how I get on.

Thanks to the OP and other comments.

Quite fancy one of these at £109 www.bisselldirect.co.uk/product/3 I can't find any at Argos for £112 www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0883739.htm

Maybe a Bissell expert can't answer a question please? Is the machine in Argos the same as the BissellDirect one? There seems to be a couple of very similar models (I remeber 1 on IdealWorld with more tools) on Google and the Bissell site's not entirely clear especially as they're selling it for £109 when it was sold for much more previously. They also have a refurb for £10 less.

Thanks for any comments! :)

I would opt for the argos one as it is new. The one at bisselldirect is a refurb (see press ad pdf in link). easier to return to argos is anything goes wrong too. I have the argos one and works very well.

Thanks :)

I reckon it's brand new -just a slighty dodgy web site.

Refurb www.bisselldirect.co.uk/product/103

rather than risk it not being new, I would still rather pay £3 more as argos have a great returns policy

From what I can see, the Argos one is the replacement model to the one in this deal. Not sure if the is any major difference between the two models (You could look on uk.bissell.com which has both models listed) . The problem is finding an Argos that actually has one in stock!! The nearest Argos store I could find that had one in stock was going to cost me £20 in fuel just to go and pick it up.
The cleaner I received from Bisselldirect is brand new so there is no reason to suspect you are going to receive a refurbished one. The refurbished are £99.95 and clearly marked as so on the website. If in doubt just ring them up and order over the phone.

Defo prefer Argos but there's nothing around. I'll check over the next few days.

Thanks again.

Bissell PROheat 57G7E Upright Deep Cleaner. 088/3739

Managed to reserve one of these for £112.49 just now, so they're still around.
