They last offered it for this price in October of last year. For comments on that deal, see here.

Bissell are decent cleaners - got the lift-off one on a deal from here ages ago for a mere £29. Hot.

Really considering this even if I dont have a pet - just want a good vacuum cleaner. I've never used an upright though and I'm concerned how easy/hard it is to use and suction power?

Also Bissel PowerWash ProHeat now £96.76, Reduced from £146.76... Seems good....

Are these good for laminate floors?

I bought one of these in October when it was last on offer. It is a much better vaccum cleaner than any other I've owned. The only downside is that it is quite noisy but on the other hand the suction is amazing so I don't mind!

Is this brand new or a refurb?

Looks like a good deal - although it still guts me to spend £50 a on Vaccum Cleaner - ah the joys of growing up :)

Cheers,

Yes! Adjust the brush height and off you go. Don't forget to reset the brush before you go onto your carpet floor or the cleaner will run off by itself. Very strong brush movement and suction.

I can confirm that this cleaner is quite noisy. But the cleaning power is amazing and I have used a number of cleaners before including the Dyson upright.

The hose is long enough (4.5m) to reach the top of my 12 step stairs (and beyond), so no carrying anything up the stairs when cleaning.. All tools are mounted on the body at all times and therefore always available to you.

I got the £49.95 price in October and the cleaner arrived within 4 days. The cleaner is new (not reconditioned) but as the comment obove, Bissell reconditioned cleaners are also like new.

I can highly recommend this cleaner for anyone, whether you have pets or not (if you don't have pet hair on your carpet or comphy chairs, just leave the special hair tools flipped up at all times and you have the normal none-pet cleaner with the additional air filter)

After reading all the postive reviews on this site, I bought a Bissell Twin Power a month or so ago. Let me start by saying that the price is amazing and the suction is awesome, as people have said the first time you run it over your carpet it fills the dust container in no time at all. However, having used a Dyson for many years before it blew up, overall I would say that the Bissell is fundamentally flawed.

1. It's too heavy.
2. The dust container is too small.
3. It's ridiculous noisy to the extent that my neighbours actually complained.
4. The hose is not very flexible.
5. If you are using the tools, it is very easy to pull the thing over and smash stuff.
6. If you pull it the other way, it can dig into and damage the carpet.
7. It is very easy to run over the cable.

My advice is if you want to simply clean your carpets in your isolated bungalow then it is fine, but otherwise pay the extra and get a Dyson. That's what I am doing and my 1 month old Bissell is going into storage as an emergency vacuum cleaner.

got one of these last time round and can recommend them
downside is they are quite loud, but the results make up for the noise imo
the brush at the front certainly beats the pile & helps in lifting dust you never knew was there

Purchased this model last October and it is by far the best cleaner I have ever had. The suction is so strong and made me realise how bad my Dyson was. Read instructions well through, as the filters need cleaning regularly (easily done) such is the power of the vac - the debris builds up on them very quickly. Would recommend to all and my married children were waiting for a repeat of this offer to take advantage. Really road tested with 2 shaggy dogs in our home!
By the way - easy to use despite being a big machine - it glides....................

i ordered one of these last october and its really good!

Its quite heavy bu it basically pulls itself along the carpet with the really powerful suction! well worth the money and for me with 3 cats, a hairy labrador and kids its a god send!
#31
I got one the last time they were on offer and would agree with the other posters. It is the best at cleaning up cat hair that I have had, and I've had a few! :w00t: It is a bit on the heavy side but cleans so well I don't mind too much. The positives far outweigh the negatives in my opinion.

The cable seems to come out of a funny place and doesn't move with the cleaner in the same way as the Dyson does. I cam home the other day to find that the cable had been stripped to the wire due to my wife running over it. Just my experience and of course YMMV. Mines not going in the skip but it's going into storage which is where we put things we can't bring ourselves to junk!

It's great as going in straight lines but if you are a heavy user of the tools as we are then it's a pain. It's also bloody heavy not for me but my wife hates using it as she struggle to shift it (not to push it as pointed out you struggle to stop the flipping thing!). I guess it's another example of US brute force!

@ Petetobin
must admit, I had to google YMMV and it returned "your mileage may vary" or "you make me vomit" :w00t:

I assure you I mean the former :)

for those concerned about weight, what about the weightless hover craft model - i'm considering one of these 'cos my missus is lazy & always complains about back pain when it's her turn to do the vacuuming! :x

I have no carpets in my apartment - wood/ granite & limestone fllors throughout - anyone know if this is any cop? Looks good from the video clip & at this price?

I don't have this model but I did buy a Bissell lift off that was reconditioned from their website last year and would highly recommend their machines in general for sucking up pesky pet hairs. Suction power is much stronger than any Dyson I have had, although the machines are on the heavy side as others have mentioned.

I was tempted to buy this and have two hoovers but that's ridiculous so think I'm just going to go for the pet pack for £14.63 with the two turbo tools in it to upgrade my lift off to being a pet one!

Great deal though and I can recommend ordering from their website too :)

Just ordered one:thumbsup: My DC05 has seen better days. Needed a good one for dog hair.

Thanks. i have just ordered this as i have 2 dogs and it`s a nightmare trying to get the hairs up. Hoping this will perform better than the vacuum i have.. Hot:thumbsup:

I agree with most of the issues you've listed, but for me they're more slight irritations than fundamental flaws. Personally I can easily live with those problems when we're talking about a cleaner that's only costing 50 quid.
