I challenge anyone to tell me what the difference between this excellently priced casserole dish and it's enormously overpriced French equivalent is?

These are not sealed inside, you have to seal them yourself and keep re-doing it every so often or it will start to rust. The overprices French ones have an enamel coating on the inside.

^ Thanks for clarifying that, as it said on the website they needed to be sealed I assumed there was no coating inside

I have a good collection of cast-iron skillets that are years old and they have to be sealed by hand.

Call me old fashioned, but In my opinion this gives them that personal touch and it literally takes less than a minute.
