This Black & Decker 9.6V drill has a 24 torque clutch for perfect screwdriving into a variety of materials with different screws sizes. It has a spring loaded slide pack battery system for quick and easy battery change and a more secure fit. The reverse switch adds versatility.

Went to North Shields Tesco to buy a Little Tikes Cozy Cottage for £24.50 and needed something to take me over £30 to use a £10 off £30 voucher i recieved in the post.

Reduced to £7.49.

I`ve charged it up overnight and just used it to screw the Cozy Cottage together, works great.

I could only see the one i bought on the shelf but other stores might have them.

I hate these type of power tools with the description 'drill', it infers you can drill holes with it !

Yes, they WILL drill holes but you would need patience and high quality drill bits, a better terminology for these would be 'cordless screwdriver'.

Hot from me nonetheless, as I would only use it as a screwdriver, and for £7.49 it looks good value for money.

People, people:(. A brand name drill for less than £7.50.oO Of course it will drill normal DIY jobs. Even if not, a very cheap powerful driver !!" Do you expect hammer action at this price? A cracking deal if you can find it.

Agree with what a couple of posters have said. This is at best a cordless screwdriver.Simple reason that it doesnt have hammer action is because it really does not have the power to drill into bricks at only 9.6v.There are drill combi's that are 18v and still struggle to do that without using up all their charge!

Its actually just a bulky cordless screwdriver and to be honest for the same price you could get a smaller one for places where you may have restricted room to work.

So in short yes a good deal for a named piece of kit.Just think why it is so cheap this time around because have to say i think most wanting to use it to drill or even do alot of screwdriving will be very disappointed.

How can you vote cold on that basis? oO Being in the Province, there are loads of great deals posted not available, either by store location or exorbitant postage costs, still makes them great deals !!! At best you should have refrained. :|

I think some people are just lazy,if the deal is not on their doorstep then they vote cold.
i drove 20+ miles to get a Little Tikes Cozy Cottage yesterday and stumbled across these for £7.49 and personally i`m over the moon...well worth £7.49!

If any of the cold voters can find anything better for £7.49 i`ll eat my hat and as for being store specific Durham is 40 miles from me and i think Glasgow in Scotland is a few miles from me too atleast 100 miles + :|

You have an 18v hammer drill that struggles to drill into brick without using all its charge?

I would suggest you try good quality drill bits, or it could be your battery is on its last legs or the charger isn't giving out a full charge (or a combination of both)

If you find the same results after trying decent drill bits, you may want to try replacing your drill with a new one, preferably an SDS if drilling into brick often ?
