Cheap and cheerful workbench, and the lowest price it's been for a while.

Every home should have one - I think I paid more than this 35 years ago

This isn't anther near the quality of one you got 35 years ago. These things are lightweitght and wobbly.

Good deal though if you just need something for light DIY

I met the guy who invented the Workmate some years ago (Ron Hickman). His pride and joy was a frame with the letter from Stanley tools declining to take up his offer to produce it, saying it would only sell 'dozens'. Next to it in the same frame was the letter from Black & Decker congratulating him on the 30 millionth unit sold. He cheekily made me this 'plaque'.http://i211.photobucket.com/albums/bb122/peter_king1/2014-12-04164232.jpg

had my two level one about the same length of time replaced the worktops twice, rubber feet long gone and the spring clips that keep the legs out have failed, but still doing stirling duty.

I bought two of these, over the years, well the £80 versions; trouble was, so many parts missing one was completely useless & one list a foot or two and wobbled, plus had some nasty sharp edges!

Built mine over the weekend and it seems pretty sturdy. The handle pins were a bit tight and needed a bit of a smack with a hammer to get in tho... Very happy for the price paid.
