Anime-On-Line are selling a bundle of Black Lagoon volumes (1-3, RRP £15.99 each or £47.97 for the lot), which constitutes the entire first series, for just £9.99. A bargain and a brilliant series to boot, one of my favourite Anime action series actually, highly recommended to any Anime fans that haven't already seen it.

"Rokuro Okajima is a meek, mundane and metropolitan man on a business trip to South East Asia. But things quickly go from pleasure cruise to festival of pain when modern day pirates board the ship and take him hostage! Revy, Dutch and Benny are merciless, maniacal and mean and together, they make up the crew of the Black Lagoon. A mercenary group has hired them to steal a data disc Rokuro was carrying and with it, classified information that threatens the peace and security of the entire world!"

Doesn't look a bad series - decent price too!

Do you know how well it stands on it's own or do we need the second barrage?

They have volume 1 of the second barrage for 99p but don't list the boxset or other volumes.

It can be watched on it's own, but I promise you will be desperate for more. Both series are out of print and difficult to get hold of (making this even more of a bargain), but MVM have a habit of re-issuing their more popular series every few years (e.g. Paranoia Agent has seen 3 runs now 2006, 2008 2010) and this one's about due, but obviously it'll be back up to the full price for a while if that happens.

One i want to watch, after buying the shana deal of the week need to find some extra funds for this.

Spending quite a bit of money on this site recently :) and still got their booth to go to at the MCM London Anime Expo at the end of the month, usually have some bargins.

MCM Expo time already? With my daughter having moved out I haven't been roped into cosplay prop making this year...

You'll be lucky to get Second Barrage Vol 2, I've been trying to get hold of it since last year. Had orders at Play, The Hut, etc. all cancelled because they can't get hold of it (yet the sods still advertise it for sale *sigh*). I'm hoping MVM reissue it.

Not much Anime love around at the mo. This and GreenTango's Shakugan No Shana deal aren't doing very well at all, despite both being excellent deals.

My xxxholic deal never went anywhere - but I guess that's 'cos it was a deal with Priceminister. I got the series for £7.78 which was fantastic value; currently the best price there is £9.92 (using the £5 new customer code).

Yeah well worth a tenner :-)

Hopefully the 2nd series will get a re-issued, if not there's always another way ;-).

Try not to go via that other method, always prefered to have the hard copy (although storing them is starting to be come a problem lol).

Emailed MVM on the subject they replied saying they no longer hold the licencing rights to the series so are unable to re-release or produce some more copies :(

Nice of them to respond, but still :-(. I wonder who, if anybody, does hold the licence then. I suspect no-one, at least not on these shores.

EDIT: Also, makes me wonder if we'll ever see the OVA's (Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail) over here. Looking into it they've been picked up by Funimation in the US, as oppose to Geneon for the series, who I guess we can blame for the licences expiring. So who knows, maybe Funi will rescue the rest of the series too.
