Black PU leather Kindle 4 case - £2.25 delivered (Amazon) sold by ForeFront Cases.

pikachu12pikachu12

Good reviews, from one of them (which I cannot personally verify) - "after inspection is also EXACTLY the same as 'branded' cases selling for £20+ in Tesco/Argos etc at the moment."

3rd party seller but fulfilled by Amazon.

Even considering getting one for myself for the Kindle I intend to buy in a month or two.

Anyone who owns the case already, feedback would be appreciated.

The reviews also confirm that this item is NOT leather at all, so the sellers are lying by describing it as leather - even at this price they should be completely honest in describing their product accurately. They have't even done the usual weasel words route of describing the plasic as 'PU leather' or 'veggie leather' or some other duplicitous statement.

Also, at least one review saying that ink from this case has damaged/stained someone's kindle.

For an expensive gadget like a Kindle it's worth soending a decent amount to get a quality protective cover from an hnest and reputable seller (who doesn't misleadingly misdescribe their product!).

OP should amend the title as it's NOT Leather.

I've got a logic case not made of leather or faux leather, it is material but has a felt inside. I colleague at work said it had stained his kindle black. Could he have been using a faux leather case like this then at the same time. As I've tried everything to try and make the logic case felt rub off on my fingers even when wet.

Bought one of these at £4.70 in March and having used it for 4 months I am satisfied it was vfm at that price.
The only quibbles I have are that the cover makes it a bit fiddly to turn off the Kindle and 'turning' the pages is a little harder but I guess it's probably the same for all the protective covers.
All in all a satisfactory purchase.

Had one of these cheap cases, and the back of my kindle was stained in a most horrid manner.

    Would avoid really.

I was a bit surprised to see that all the fake leather stuff on eBay is now described as leather - and stuff is also sold as stainless steel when it's not. But there doesn't seem to be a category for misdescribed goods when reporting a listing! eBay is just complicit in all this fraud...

One the one hand the use of the word certainly *is* misleading, on the other it's now pretty much universal.

Well its a case for £2 what did you expect to get? In fairness, I have bought a case from Forefront Cases before (the £9.99 one) which is soft leather (5* reviews confirm) and it is a much better buy than any other third party Kindle cover. Let's face it, I'm not going to pay for an official Amazon case which is 30% of the original Kindle price!

would this fit a Kobo Touch?

The Tesco finest cases are very nice at £15

The title didn't originally say PU.

    Something correctly described.

I bought the official Kindle one without the light, you get what you pay for. There's no elastic holding it in, just a plastic moulding which fits it perfectly. About £20.

Use at your own risk. I had one and it left black dye marks all over the back of my kindle, which do not come off.

Rather defeats the point - something designed to protect the kindle actually damaging it.

Got one of these a few months back. Perfect for my Kindle. Not interested whether it is real leather or not. For a couple of quid its ideal and keeps it protected.
