On a deserted, dusty, backwoods road Lazarus (Samuel L. Jackson) finds the abandoned body of a young girl; she's alive but bruised. Taking her home to his farm he discovers she's a local girl named Rae (Christina Ricci), a local girl with a history of being as wild possible.

Being a god-fearing man Lazarus sees it as his duty to save Rae from herself and help her back on the straight and narrow. But the only way he can see of curing her is to chain her to his radiator, so that she can't run away from the house. Now the two of them must face each other as Lazarus tries everything possible to help Rae, but maybe she isn't the only one who needs a bit of help.

From Family Guy's "Something Something Something Darkside"

Peter - This is the story of Black Snake Moan. Once upon a time, Christina Ricci was all tied up for some reason.
Stewie - I'm already bored and confused.

Does this sum it up? I've never seen it.

:? ?? For what reason would you buy a DVD other than to watch it??? Have I been missing out on other uses? Please, please let me know what they are.

Babylon did say "just to watch" you know
Have you never bought a dvd for your collection?
If so then it wasn't "just to watch"

He either finds a body or she's alive. I don't care if he is Samuel L. motherfreakin' Jackson, he can't have it both ways.

To watch for the first time... i.e. not one for the collection

Haha - Why? The word 'body' simply means the enitre structure of an animal or human - it does not have to be dead! However the word 'body' can also be used to describe a corpse.

If your doctor said "You have a bruise on your body" would you start looking around the room saying "Where? There are no dead people in here?!" Haha...:whistling:

Only worth watching if you want to see the Ricci get her puppies out. :w00t:

If you walked into a room and saw your friend sat there, would you point and say "hey, look, a body"?

These are two very different uses of the word "body". As used in the synopsis of the film above, the word definitively means "corpse", and is thus incorrect since the girl was still alive. If Mr. Jackson had "found a girl beside the road who had bruises all over her body", this would indicate the meaning of the word that you were implying.

Shame she had to get them reduced....those bad boys were the only things diverting our attention away from her huge giant bobblehead.

The description is basically indicating that he thought she was dead from the state her body was in....at least that's what I presumed when I read the description. No need to make a big song and dance about it, but if you insist....could you do "All that jazz"? At the very least I'd settle for the Hokey Cokey....but you've gotta make me...belive...it's the Hokey Cokey... :p

Good film....worth a go.

Yeah, I can see what it's indicating, I just found it amusing that they got it so wrong. A song and dance is entirely unnecessary - although I could do something by Body Count if you like. :whistling:

Yes! YES! I've never heard of them before but a thousand times yes! ^_^ Within the next hour please, I expect a youtube submission...wear something skimpy like a mankini...but not lime coloured, that's just unattractive. >_<

Actually I didn't imply anything - I used it as an example of another use for the word 'body'. Anyway the synopsis simply implies that he found a torso, quite possibly with arms, maybe some legs, and even a head... it doesn't pressume to tell you that it is a dead body, or even a lifeless body... just a human 'body'...

"I came home the other day and found a body in the lounge."
"What, really?"
"Yeah, it was my girlfriend."
"****, what happened?"
"Er, nothing... she was just watching telly."
"What?"
"She was watching X-Factor."
"She was okay?"
"Yeah, she was fine."
"Why are you saying you found a body then?"
"Some idiot on the internet told me that was a valid use of the word."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah. He seemed to think that just because someone has a body, it's perfectly reasonable to describe them as being a body, even when they're still alive."
"Jeez. I hope you didn't enter into a long and pointless argument with him over it."
"Dude, as if I'd do a dumbass thing like that."
