While looking for the other Sainsbury's bargains mentioned on this site in my Local Store (Ashford, Kent) I spotted this DVD Boxset which I thought was an excellent price.

This is my post so please be easy on me if it has already been posted.

Like a skidmark through history the Edmund Blackadders left an indelible dirty stain on every era they passed through. No one knows where the notorious Blackadder family originated from - some say the shallow end of the gene pool, others just nod and point to the cess-pit behind the pig-sheds.

Every new era produces a more contemptuous Edmund Blackadder, each incarnation bearing a striking resemblance to the last, carrying forward the family traditions of cowardice, treachery and political corruption. Accompanying each generation of Edmund Blackadders is the 'Baldrick' family, a loyal breed of human pack-animal and the byword for all things stupid.

This DVD set includes all four series of Blackadder, Blackadder's Christmas Carol and Blackadder: Back And Forth.

Series 1 - Episodes:

1. The Foretelling
2. Born to Be King
3. The Archbishop
4. The Queen of Spain's Beard
5. Witchsmeller Pursuivant
6. The Black Seal

Series 2 - Episodes:

1. Bells
2. Head
3. Potato
4. Money
5. Beer
6. Chains

Series 3 - Episodes:

1. Dish And Dishonesty
2. Ink And Incapability
3. Nob And Nobility
4. Sense And Senility
5. Amy And Amiability
6. Duel And Duality

Series 4 - Episodes:

1. Captain Cook
2. Corporal Punishment
3. Major Star
4. Private Plane
5. General Hospital
6. Goodbyeee

Blackadder's Christmas Carol: 'A Christmas Carol' Blackadder-style. Bet you can't guess who the Scrooge is?

Dickens' classic tale of kindness, truth and virtue completely mucked up and ruined by having a member of the Blackadder family involved. Also Baldrick, of course, the man you can rely on to turn a Christmas dinner into a dog's dinner, as long as the dog isn't particularly fussy. Stuffed with deeply horrid people (many of whom are gigantically fat) and groaning with cartloads of seasonal bottom jokes, it manages to squeeze in not only a Victorian Black Adder but also his famous Elizabethan, Regency and Space Age relatives into a huge pie of entertainment that will satisfy all but the most discriminating viewers.

Blackadder - Back And Forth: It's New Year's Eve 1999 and Lord Edmund Blackadder and friends are gathered to celebrate the Millennium. Blackadder discloses he has built a time machine - and to prove it works he proposes a wager of £10,000 to anyone who cares to name an historical object for him to collect on his journey through time... Blackadder bids his friends farewell and steps into the time machine and he and Baldrick set upon a journey spanning centuries.

Voted cold!
Can anyone confirm same price in other stores?
HOT HOT HOT!! I paid about £25 for this on Amazon before Christmas and thought that was a good price!
Hot price....although got mine in woolies (god bless 'em) for £9 ....Ho Hum
I found this in my local Sainsbo`s last week, but didn`t post, most people will be very lucky to find it. They just had the one in Bristol, Winterstoke road branch!
Bought this last month at a higher price from Amazon. Great value if you're not bothered about the way the set is presented......... IMHO it's a tatty, paperlike case which doesn't do justice to the content.....

Well mate it`s not the dead sea scrolls, It`s just a TV series! I think the packaging is pretty good. Never please some people though :whistling:
Oh b****cks, bought this for £25 a few weeks back, very hot deal
does this set contain the rarely shown Comic Relief Black Adder with Stephen Fry as Charles the first?
Not found at Willesden Green (London).
Thanks. Just got one a Sainsburys London Colney.
awesum deal xxx !!! Heat added!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Excellent deal, but no chance anyone will actually be able to get hold of one.
They had about 5 copies in the Ashford Store scattered about the shelves.
Unless I'm very much mistaken, you're the winner of the 'Round Britain Shortest Fattest Dumpiest Woman Competition. And for her to be accompanied by the winner of this year's Stupidest Accent Award is really quite overwhelming.

Blackadder's Christmas Carol and The Snowman are the only Christmas shows worth watching every year
Excellent deal, but no chance anyone will actually be able to get hold of one.

Sainburys London Colney had 4 left after I purchased mine. They also had plenty of the Rocky Boxset (£10), also the Star Wars Prequal Trilogy (£12) and Alien Quadrilogy (£10)
got mine in cobham store, none on shelf but asked assistant, who got one from warehouse also got star wars, which was not on display either, so may pay to ask if not on shelf
woohoo, thanks so much. I've been waiting for ages for this to go below £30ish.

Have some heat + rep :)

Well i'm off to mine tonight. If i see Blackadder or Alien Quadrilogy i'll buy and report back.

Sadly, mine is a smaller store, so i doubt it'll have any.
None in Redditch store but they did have the Alien boxset for £10.

Also had Sleeping Beauty 50th Anniversary Collectors Platinum Edition (2xDVD plus hard-back book) for £6.99 right next to the regular 2xDVD edition for £13.97 !

Managed to grab the last of these on the stand.

Thought I was out of luck as I went to the (tiny) DVD bit to start off with and there were none of the ones mentioned (I was originally after the star wars stuff). But just as I went to see the service desk I noted the temporary DVD sale stand. Only one copy of this left and no star wars. Asked at the desk and they managed to find one of the original trilogies for me.

All in all a worthwhile outing
Found one in a big plastic box with others that they were just about to put out on the shelves. It was the only Black Adder there though and made the trip to sainsburys worthwhile - cheers OP.
Just managed to find one in Hemel :)
